lol glad to know im not the only one who has plants vegging in window seals lol, but looks like u got most ur answers, growing weed is a lazy ass hobby 4 sure, not much u can do when u have everything needed but watch an water, g'luck, im currently startin mine, just to let ya know how it can get from a window seal here ya go, along with others...all vegged in a window seal an bag seed, except 2 r orange kush...g'luck shorty

LST is the bomb! Some string, some rubber bands and some time trimming & training. The benefit is that light is available all the way to the lowest parts of the plant. So, in turn I am now growing 21 tops instead of just one main cola.

No, I'd use CFL Lighting, even a fluro, pretty inexpensive at most grow stores. Although come flower time, invest in at least a 400HPS light, you can get a cheap one at HTGSupply.com, I know your on a budget as we all are, but if you don't light them properly your going to be very disappointed. If you can't afford to grow, don't grow till you can afford to.
QUESTION 2: how much water should my plants be getting?
About every 3-4 days, I go by when the pot feels very light, water them vigourously, pick up the pot, wait 4 days, pick up the pot, this is what it should feel like when needed water. Go by that rule of thumb, or you can stick your finger in the drain hole and see if its starting to dry out.
QUESTION 3: what can i do to improve my plants? [chemical-wise]
I wouldn't give them anything your first time, if you do, again if your on a budget your not going to like the price tag, but Fox Farm Trio pack, (Grow Big, Tiger Bloom, Big Bloom). It'll come with a feeding chart, go 1/2 stregth.
QUESTION 4: about how long until i can smoke it?
55-65 days after flower you can harvest genereally, every strain is different. I recommend vegging for 4 weeks (vegative stage, after the seedling stage).
QUESTION 5: i often blow weed smoke on them, because someone said that was a good thing to do. is this true?

Mold. Humidity, pests. These are the 3 prolbems with unfinished basements. I'd use some bug bombs can clean the best you can in the area your growing in. Get a reading on the humidity and temperature. 5.95 at homedepot. You need this.

alright. well. to start off, i'm new (as hell) to rollitup & growing. i know i'm a female, and should have some sort of a green thumb - but, i don't.. and i'm just starting out, out of boredom and brokeness. so, please bare with me if i don't exactly know the names of shhhiiatt, and so on.
i pretty much got stoned one night & decided that weed is getting way to expensive, & i wanted to experiment a little. my set-up is cheap & ghetto because i'm close to poor.
SOIL:
i spent about $4 on the soil [2 bags - yeah, it was cheap as hell and i had a coupon!] soil brand is called "GOOD EARTH", and is produced locally. it is POTTING SOIL (who knows if that was okay to use, but it was cheap). bag says prepared for all plants indoor and outdoor. has the little white styrophome beads in it (i don't know what they're called).
GERMINATION:
i germinated a shit-load of seeds [like 15 or so] in a paper-towel & a tubba-wear. not some crazy weed, just some bud-spot seeds. probably schwagg? but grade A schwagg. i only winded up planting about 9 of them [due to my parinoidness]. so.. here i am, with 9 little pot plants growing pretty strong (?) - maybe, they are; this is where it get's iffy - i've never done this before, so i'm not sure if they're healthy or what. i really don't have pictures right now, but.. to describe everything..
LIGHTS:
120 volt / 60 hz [? have no idea if that's the way to describe it] energy savers unlimited light is what i'm using. pretty sure it's used for reptiles. but, my friend gave it to me for free - & like i said, i'm broke.. and i wanna grow weed. it looks accurate, though. & my plants ARE growing. they also get a lot of sunlight, because they are in good range of a big window. QUESTION ONE: is this an okay light to use? if it's not, what should i be using.
PLANTS:
.. the plants are actually really good looking. i planted one a lot earlier than the others, and that one seems to be doing the best. it has it's four leaves, and the edged/divited ones have dropped a bit lower than the other two. so, in my opinion they ARE growing.
GROW SPACE:
as for my "grow space" .. it's my kitchen. (yeah, tell me about it). i will eventually find a new, "better/secluded" spot. but, for now.. i love cooking dinner with my plants [haha]. well. it consists of all the plants in 2 liters of coke (cleaned, & cut a little shorter; so everything will be easy to maintain). then, over-all .. they are all sitting in a huge tub-like plastic container (so my kitchen floor doesn't get dirty). i water them once or twice a day with a little syringe and distilled water.

HE ya new member of RIU.org-nice to see some females in here.so reading your post and just laughing my ass of(im not man just its funny in a good way)
so to cut this short, water your plants every 2-3 days-whenever the soil feelsdry=lift up the pots and if its light then water, if heavy then dont, ot poke your finger inside that soil about 4 inches deep-if its dry, yhen time 4 water.
to improve your plants health, use nutes-if your on veggetative growth(no buds yet, getting light over 14h of day)then use ferts what are high on N-nitrogen, something like 7-1-1 is good=all is written to the fert label.for budding(lights are on 12-12 h it is good to give them high P and K=POTASSIUM and KALCIUM.
when you get to smoke it??depend what strain you are growing, if it is smaller and with really wide leaves-then it indica=those grow faster and will be ready in about 3 months.but if leaves are really long and narrow, then you have sativa, those grow much longer, u to 6 months or even longer.
dont blow weed smoke on them ITS BAD-its not co2 its co3 and that is bad.
yo and rest of it-its easy-your plants need 4 a good living only water, light and some fresh air-thats it.growing weed is easy and i hope all the best to you. kiss-kiss

So many people ask questions that if they took a minute and did some reading, they would figure it out. I am not being an ass, I just said do some reading.
I went through the whole learning how to grow thing too. I read and read info on how to do it. This was before there was an internet full of information.

haha. people are ignorant. if you can read correctly. i wanted input on how they were doing. that's why i posted pictures. granted, the internet (and this website) will teach you a shit load about growing; but there's nothing better than an experienced grower seeing your plants and commenting on what you're doing wrong, and/or what you can do to improve them. so many people gave me ideas on what to do. maybe you like to read up on the internet; but i'd much rather hands-on shit. when i started my plants; i had no idea what to do - after posting a thread & getting feed-back.. I am very confident about my plants and grow space. obviously, you're the only one complaining.
