Hey everyone... I just bought a $300 dehumiudifer to try and keep the humidity in my room down but it seems to only go down like 5%... thats it.. is there anyway i can make this more efficient? Thanks for all who comment..

**This is my first grow.. i decided to start because of a friend and i cant believe how much its changed my life! I have 2 600 watt hps bulbs.. I switched them from 2 400 watt MH bulbs during veg. If you look at my youtube video right below this paragraph you can see what they looked like only 3 weeks from buying the clones. NOW, they are crazy huge.. even my boy that owns a club told me he cant believe how they look for this being my first grow. If anyone wants to check out pictures just email me at bayyboyy@hotmail.com or comment on my ROLLITUP.. I have 6 chocolope's growing, all about 3 feet tall and it looks as though its going to have somewhere between 2 1/2 to 3 ounces per plant.. I also have 6 bubba kush that still have about a month n a half to go and they are all about 6 feet tall... i cant really tell the approximate yield of those but ill tell you, WAY MORE THAN THE CHOCOLOPE!! but yeah thats just a little about what im doing.. im really trying to find someone that is serious about this shit and can help or get help with what we both need to do.. LETS DO IT! -WBK-

That isn't right bud. Take that thing back and get a new one. Something is wrong with the settings.

What is your humidity level before trying to use it, and what are they after you've had it on for 12 hrs?

WB, is the machine filling the res? You say it's only a 5% swing, what are the high an low numbers? That window A/C should be dropping the RH while it is on as well.

ok well i thought that same thing that i should take it back but the guy at the hydro store told me if your window ac is pushing in 55% humidity from outside then there is really nothing that you can do.... that seems to be true, right?? let me know! and yes the machine is filling the resevoir.. pretty quick too! i usually have to dump it 2 times a day..

I don't think air conditioned air has 55% humidity, most of the moisture sticks to the coils in the air conditioner and is then dripped back outside. If your dehumidifier bucket fills up, it shuts off, so as long as the bucket isn't full, it doesn't seem to be working

WB, the window unit is not the issue. It doesn't use outside air to cool the room air, it uses room air. If the dehumid bucket is filling it is working, filling twice a day, it's working.
