My plant is huge this year, for where I live. I'm in Southern Ontario our seasons are ok.
But this year my plant is fairly tall but boy is it wide.
My fathers plants are very tall.
Can you guys settle an argument for me and my father. Which plant would you guys rather have?

I'd take number 2... your plant is nice and bushy yes... BUT... ur light is the sun...and dad has more bud sites up closer to that light, so i'm guessing Dad is gonna have monster buds and possibly a bigger yield. So yes.. 2! Final answer.

question looks more like, Do you like Sativa or Indica.
id take either of these.
For trimming purposes I’d prefer dads.
For what I do mostly.. Make butters and balms I’d take yours.
Either way, I’d lollipop those girls now.

My two cents? I would rather have the bushy one. I live in northern wisconsin and the cold and rain here during the fall is bad! The fatter the buds the more likely to get rot. I'd much rather have more med size colas then one large one that I might lose to mush.
Thats the total opposite of what i was thinking. I figured that a more spread out plant would dry quicker in the wind and sun than a dense shrub. In your experience outdoors, which is far more than mine, do you find that to not be the case?
I though that sativa buds were typically less dense and less prone to mold

lol, not that I think your choice is wrong, but the part about being closer to the sun is funny

This is the exact experiment I am doing this year... 100gals, 6 of them... 4 of which are same strain, 3 topped 3 not.

Ive always preferred to top and bush them out, But depending how this goes... I really am leaning more toward natural tall xmas tree style than round bush... I had the same thought process as you Boatguy, better airflow less risk... I was worried that the bush would yield more TBH though...

And depending on strain, yeah I can def see that being an issue GG... Will be sure to take plenty of notes and see what yields more and which has better quality / taste / etc.

Yeah the link in my signature, One of the topped ones herm'd last week so its currently 2 topped 3 untopped. and a couple other extra randoms.

Sorry I dont really update it too often, only about every 2 weeks Ill post some pictures, but I take notes in notebooks, so at the end of the year Ill sit down and either summarize them, take pics of the pages, or at the very least Ill post the yield results and some bud shots for sure.

This was something Ive been wondering for like 10 years.
