Hi @Zerogreentears , aside from temperature and H2O2, there are a few things that you could try. I myself have used these, and they're not miracle cures, but they do help out a lot when my AC broke down on me during the hot season:
- Run the bubbler on a timer. You do not have to run it all the time. I put mine on a timer and run it 15min ON, 30min OFF.
- Incidentally, the waterfall suggestion is a great idea too. That definitely reduces the heat going into the rez.
- Evaporative cooling works too. Have a mini fan towards the surface level. It evaporates the water more, but then all you need to do is top off with RO water a lil more.
- Use humic acid in the reservoir. This thing makes your rez almost black. Usually the main purpose of this is more to prevent algae, but in my (admittedly anedoctal) experience, it does help the plant deal with warm rez better.

How does compost tea defeat root rot?
I believe it is the Trichoderma in the bennies which fight of pythium.

Completely got rid of my root rot the very first time I did hydro. Fought it for a week with H2O2, then threw in the Bennies and problem solved! Not just solved, but the roots LOVED it!

I'm at 68F (20C) with bennies, seems to be their happy place.

This is after i sprayed her with distilled water and did my water change that i do every 2 weeks
They look good now. Just know if the causation of the event was not fixed, the root rot will return.

You need regular H2O2 applications, or regular Tea/Bennies Feedings. Or fix your water temperature.
