Hi,
I'm making a couple stealth cabs in my closet, one 400w cab for veging with a 400w MH, and another cab with two 400w lights, I believe both HPS but I might mix it up..who knows..
Anyway I know I am going to have a problem with heat in these boxes..
I have no where to vent all this heat except out into my closet, which will go into my room and into my house and be negated by our central AC, or to close my rooms door and leave the window open..etc...
I was wondering if anyone had experience cooling using an AC, and do you need to use your inline fans on top of it or does the AC circulate enough?
Can I cool a box like this, like I am thinking?
I am planning on either mounting a long slender window AC unit to the back of it so the back is outside the box and the vent is inside the box..
or a unit with ducting that sits outside of the box if I can find one..
Anyone who can help guide me I would appreciate this..
So far I have sparked up a 400w and 250w in my room together, and there's no heat problem yet..
My room seems to stay about 78 degrees with those two lights though..up from 72..
However the ac is not being ran and there are no fans blowing air in/out of the bedroom..
the two lights are in a grow tent in the closet for now..
Anyone who can help me or give me any advice/info I would appreciate it a lot..on anything from if this would work, what problems I may face, or what type of AC units to look into..
The 2x400w box will be 5 feet tall, 5 feet wide, and 2 feet deep, 50cubic feet, 10square feet of floorspace..80w/sqft
The 1x400w veg tent is 5ft tall x 3 ft wide x 20" deep..
I cool it with an elicent inline fan right now but it's too loud even with a speed controlled (and it's pretty quiet) cuz I have connected neighbors!
I heard soler & palau TD series mixed flow fans are a lot quieter and I am thinking about getting one or two of those..
But if I can go with an AC unit for the 800watt box instead I would definitely prefer that!
