hi just want to ask .im at the point where i think its time to take a few clones cuttings from my plants ,there 5 weeks old this Saturday and looking quite good to take a few samples .( my first attempt ) so want to try and get it right ?

i need a bit of help please ? 2 questions i have ????

i recently bought a secondhand sanky electric heated propagator of ebay for £20, nowt fancy no bells or whistles just plug in & go as a little slot open or shut to let air in out on the dome ? ,but when it arrived it had no instructions with it .all it has with it is a material mat that lays in the bottom of the propagator plus the dome .what i want to know is ........DO I need to put water in the propagator or submerge the mat or no water at all ,im not sure ,never used one ever lol.

next question important for me ?

when i have took the clones /cuttings & there in the propagator in there root riot cube's all ready where is the best place to put the propagator ,should i put in a cool dark place with very little light needed /or do i place where there is a nice amount of light ,like i was thinking in my grow room say in the corner with my other plants ,or would that be a bad idea .

any info would be appreciated

just turn it on and put a layer of soil or perlite across the bottom, mist the soil with water, not loads you dont want it soggy, place the clone anywhere in the propagator, leave the vents closed until you see the first signs of roots then open a quarter way, next day half way then day after that full, by this time all should be rooted and ready to be planted, remove the lid once a day and mist your clones, leave it off for a few mins to replace with new air.

as for light clones dont need much light when rooting, you can place the propagator in your veg room like you said, i do it this way.
