help needed with watering??

Hi all. Ive been wondering for a little while and all the searches I do come up with the exact same answers (that don't answer my question). How much water should I give my plants?? I understand it depends on many different things and that you need to keep an eye on your plants to watch for over/under watering, but as I'm new to this I'm a little stuck and the guidelines on my nutrients say mix between 0.5-3ml with water but doesn't give any indication of how much. I will be growing from seeds and using coco (with clay balls at bottom of pots) as the medium, so what is a good amount to start off giving seedlings/small plants so I can watch for responses?? Any insight is much appreciated as I don't want to kill my girls before they've even started vegging! Thanks again!

I can't comment on amount of nutes with coco, other than to say start at the lower range and move up slowly. I would guess that the .5-3ml is a per gallon measurement.

Water your plants when the pot gets noticeably lighter (don't be afraid to let it dry out). Don't water by number of days just by the weight of the pot. Keep the feedings light for the first 2-3 weeks.

Good Luck!

The weight of the plants and the first digit of your finger in soil. Maybe more important is whether the pH of the water is right on - 6.0 to 6.5. And check it before you feed them too. I know in soil they thrived on going dry with the pot getting noticeably lighter. Then I soaked them until just a dribble would come out the bottom. Good luck.

once germinated, use a mist bottle to water seedlings. keep the soil slightly damp but not wet. the rest of the grow will be easy. GL

Overwatering results from plants sitting in stagnant water, or a, overly compact media, and thus no dissolved oxygen in the rhizosphere. Don't let the media get too/completely dry, but as mentioned once they lighten up enough you water again. I water thoroughly every time I water, until there is sufficient run-off and I know the soil is well saturated. As roots grow in you'll need to water more/more frequently. You can't put an exact measurement on amount to water, though.
