Help! Photoperiod screwup!

I threw off my photo period in the flowering room last night. Where they normally go on at 4 am and off at 4 pm there was a power failure and the light remained on. I figure that the net change was about 6hrs of additional light 4am to 10 pm) and its normally about 6 hours left till the light is suppose to come back on.

What would be better, give them 6 hrs dark and get on with the light schedule (start again at 4) or wait a full 12 hours and give them a new schedule or what? Never happened before and im not sure how sensitive they are to photoperiod changes.

The sooner you get them back to your preferred schedule, the easier on the plant and less likelihood of any serious issue, like turning hermie.
