i usually dont feed my seedlings anything for 3 to 4 weeks. i water them every 3 days during this time. watering the soil sufficiently, so that the bottom stays wet longer and encourages roots to grow to the bottom. feed 1/4 strength ferts very lightly once a week for two weeks and by then you plant should be ready to transplant

Check out my progress ...the plant is about 5" tall and has its 3's and 5's and starting its 7's but the leaves are smaller then the size of a quarter ...is this thing a dwarf? I know I planted the seed wrong with the point up but it straightened and is growing just so slooowwwwww:sad:
no sevens btw

People down talk Miracle Gro a lot, but I put 12 seeds into some of the seed starting mix and after six days I've got nine growing, a few getting their second true set of leaves, and one more just breaking soil. I water with 7pH Brita filtered water and have them peat starting cups. I just put some pictures in my grow topic, which is linked in my signature.

WB this is my primary
Going Perpetual on a continuum
Please check my albums they are up to date.
I'm trying to find if I go into flowering12/12...when A) My plant reaches a certain height
or B) When my plant has reached a certain amount of node and internode growth.
I'd really like 4 big colas by cutting above the 2nd true node.
anyway ...any comments or advise is always welcome..

I've been able to boost plant growth at this stage by watering with a rooting fert, like Clonex solution, or Root 66. Once the roots hit the side of your container though, transplant asap. I just had a plant stop. After about 1 1/2 feet it didn't grow any more for about 2 weeks in the same environment. As soon as I got it in a bigger pot it took off within days. I'm just figuring things out myself, but I also had a sickly plant (seedling stage 1 set of leaves) in a big container, where her sisters took off fine. After a couple weeks with zero growth I pulled the plant out to toss it, and noticed it's root system was basically one carrot shaped root that was small. I misted off the dirt, dipped it in Clonex gel, and replanted it in a plastic cup just to see what would happen. That took off great also. She is a few weeks behind the other seeds I started at the same time, but has a great root system and will be ready for a bigger container in another few days. I really don't know if the smaller container had anything to do with it or not though.

haven't tried topping myself, but from the grower opinions i've seen, you won't get more by topping
most seem to think you get pretty close to the same amount, may make more sense for cfl growers by letting the cfls penetrate the lower foliage

might be same yield but the difference from what I have seen and heard is in bud growth ...nice fat colas rather then a bunch of buds here and there ...it's manipulating the plant into thinking each top is the main cola sooo...I'm just learning also but I need clones so tops I will take and tie down the new growth as it comes in...(from what I've gathered so far)

Cloning from the top works well. Just gotta let the plant mature. Till the internodes start to stagger. Top and clone....

Hey there...
the last few days have been nightmares...
My plant was doing okay until someone suggested I transplant and fill the soil up to the tear leaves...and I was misting which led to the single leaves to burn...so then we thought it was the soil so I rinsed the soil and put the 400 hps on it and it was growing before my eyes it was like flipping a switch the 3 and 5 leafs were both standing up and reaching for the light....
I have the light 1.75 above plant for two days no burn plus I added my cool white floro next to the plant...
running a fan and humidifier keeping humidity between 45-60 will lower thge humidity when entering flowering to produce resins and oils(did some research).so if you can help me and my plant to be the best we can ....then please add me as a friend and any advice is welcome...Just please don't kill my plant...
thanks !!!:razz: :leaf::razz:
p.s Iam researching posting and learning can I get some rep yet?lol:lol:
Oh ya. And quit over THINKING IT! You have a nice start. Keep it simple the first few times around. And you gotta be patient. And you earn rep.

Looks pretty healty too me. And looks like it has a nice sized area to root in. Give it a few weeks. Probaly just getting a nice foothold started for nice growth. Maybe start some veg nutes at 1/4 dose.
Thanks man yeah I think it's a blessing ...so beautiful ...it has humbled me a bit. Yeah I didn't understand why someone said to transplant .
This plant has been in one other container before this ...which is a 5 gallon bucket & definitely it's final spot.
I appreciate you stoppin' by . Come around anytime and let me know how your doing.

I'm sure your right ..and by researching...I have found high success
by cuting the growth @ the 2nd true node after ...5 - 6 true nodes have grown...
My question is do you really only go by height or node growth because definition of mature includes growth @ nodes and internodes ...and straight out of the stem.
This plant is incredible..and unique as many others ...but it is healty .
So ...my conclusion is each plant varies ...so we research and learn...strains ,characteristics ,traits splicing,fusing...etc...

anyway thanks for coming by and if you have a view on my thoughts ...it is welcome...

give it another 3 weeks....
good advice it didn't even need the three weeks. I was confusing people with the age...I was frustrated I posted something to the effect that thirty some days had past and a pathetic little plant was shown...the thirty days is what it took to germiunate and get the plant to that oiunt...noit thirty days from the sprout...anyway thanks for the comments and please stick around...
she is doing great!:leaf:

good to see this vahalla, i think most inside troubles are fixable with patience
but it can be a bitch getting there, especially when you have others telling you to toss it

I was telling this guy earlier NOT to do what everyone tells them, but to listen to it ...research the information you gathered and see if it applies to your strain grow ...whatever...bad advice almost killed my plant and they suggested throwing it out and starting over.
Well I'm glad I didn't this thing is amazing,
and I have learned alot ...I feel pretty lucky to have such good results on my first go or grow either is both true!whoo hoo!
This has given me a good positive outlook ...I wake up eager to see my plant and say good morning...I think my dogs are jealous.
Anyway ...I am waiting for a alternating branch .Also researching flowering and flowering nutes and the transfer of veg nutes to flowering nutes ...so on an so forth...
Appreciate your comments and thanks fo coming high...lol
I'm a funny guy...so I think

Thanks for staying tuned....
