I too live in the uk

I currently run the following.

For 2weeks of veg i run a 125w CFL with 1 oscilating fan
Then for another 2 weeks veg i run my 600w HPS with 2 oscilating fans a cooltube with 2 120mm PC fans for an 18/6 cycle then after these 4 weeks i change my schedule to 12/12 i pay by direct debit and it costs me an extra £12 a month.

So you are most definately getting screwed by your electric company or the CFL's you are using are seriously using some electric.

I currently pay around 9p constantly for my electric no difference when i use elec. i also am on dual fuel which saves me a little more. Currently i pay for both gas and electric £100 a month by direct debit before my grow room installation it was £88 a month. I phoned my electric company and told them i was running some new aquariums and that i was using approx 11Kwh extra a day and they put me on a new package as a higher end user thus giving me a better saving.

I do not fink i can afford this £41.00 a month it may not seem much to people but I have verry littel money
I will see if i can get some thing sorted or I might have to pack up shop for a bit untill I have some cash

Well if you can stay afloat for the whole grow, you should be able to make some money off of it to make your cost/troubles worthwile. Of course like the old saying goes, "it takes money to make money."
