help please, seeds, clone, veg Lighting

hi, could someone help me can i use a 250w metal halide light for my seeds then vegging?, also to keep it perpetual could i Use this light for my clones, also ventilation and temps could somebody give me a quick run down on the environment for me also height from plant tops my light needs to be, i will be growing 6 plants , once vegged will be going in flowerroom 1000hps, cloness will be taken from plants 10days into flower, anyhelp apprciated .

Yes.

Aim for 70F at night (lights off), 77 - 79F with lights on. I would use a small 6" or 4" inline fan to cool the metal halide lamp. I assume you are growing indoors.

The distance depends on cooling. Put it as close as possible without burning the top leaves. Start out high, then lower it and watch the air temperature, consider buying a infrared surface temperature gun (pretty cheap on Amazon or eBay) so you can measure the surface temp of the leaves.

Start your seedling/clone under a less intense light such as flourescents that you can keep closer to prevent stretching.
