We are all for organics and all of our fertilizers are organic. We gotta say, however, that it's a little hard to believe that you can taste the difference between plants grown with organic fertilizers that had their pH adjusted with an inorganic acid and plants grown "all organically." I mean, what is the difference in taste?i think all organic is much better i for one can taste the difference.
they do taste better, more fresh, a bit more juicy, and you just get the satisfaction knowing it is all good for you. i dont adjust my ph with chems, i use lime or oyster shells to buffer it, if you use a chem ph solution it defeats the purpose of organics. We are all for organics and all of our fertilizers are organic. This is a lie. There are inorganic substances, like many acids & bases that can be used to adjust pH, which do not affect the flavor of the finished buds. Organic fertilizers are great but just because a substance isn't organic doesn't mean it's bad for you or your plants.they do taste better, more fresh, a bit more juicy, and you just get the satisfaction knowing it is all good for you.
yes but i wont use them in my organic grow, it would defeat it being organic. my ph is just fine and if it needs raised i will use lime or oyster shells like i said why cuz it will be organic. This is a lie. Doesn't matter.Ok i am doing an all organic veggie garden.( no weed)
my Q is would house plants and other non edible plants be better off being all organic or does it matter with these types of plants?
from reading the thread it seems like you're pretty committed to organics (we're married to dirt and shit ourselves) kudos! it certainly couldn't hurt to carry that ideology into your non-edibles, etc.
(we have a toddler so we can't really have houseplants, but if we did we'd certainly have to fert with something he could hypothetically grab with a handful of dirt and eat.... lol)
one thing i've noticed from *buying organic produce is that it's quite often less 'perfect' looking. for instance, our local strawberries are quite often way smaller and the colour isn't as brilliant as the ones from cali or mexico, which look like steroid monkeys in comparison (although they can't touch ours for sweetness and that 'strawberryish' flavour). i would wonder if that would be the case with ornamentals as well. i've read about organics aiding the plant's natural immune system as well, but on the other hand, the stuff they need to fight off are becoming more and more foritified....
oops, gotta go. will be back to finish that thought tonight.
thank you both, i think with the non edible i will just use a all around chem fert like a 15-15-15 or something along those lines, i might just use MG ferts for them, house plants seem to do good with MG.Doesn't matter.
For my wife's houseplants and the like, Osmocote works nicely.

If you compost it may be beneficial to keep it organic just for that.thank you both, i think with the non edible i will just use a all around chem fert like a 15-15-15 or something along those lines, i might just use MG ferts for them, house plants seem to do good with MG....
i never thought of that but i dont do compost, i want to get into making some thoughIf you compost it may be beneficial to keep it organic just for that.
