help plz!!

so i got half of these strawberry cough from a friend but it was in 12oz cup of soil. i only do hydro so i had to transfer it to these grodan cubes and it's been almost 2 weeks and i'm seeing very slow root growth and new growth. i know they're stressed but does it usually take this long? i started feeding it only 400-500 ppm and it's been 2 weeks now and it's still very slow. there's one picture of a plant that actually had some new roots coming out but now looks rotted. i'm so frustrated cuz how the hell can i really get root rot from drain and fill? i flood for 10mins and 4 times a day. is that too much? should i flush these ladies? i already try flushing for 1 day and now feeding it 700ppm thinking they might need more food. any help would be greatly appreciated it. thanks in advance guys!!
