so my grow room is 3x3 and the temp most of the time is 68 f and the humidity is 50% the highest being 60 % and this is all in a wooden shed outside in my back yard so any ways today i went and got some mylar and covered the whole grow room with it any ways when i went back to check on it two hours later the temp had drop to 55 f and the humidity had gone up 70% can any one tell me why or how this happen and how to fix it

if you have a power supply out there or can run an extension cord i'd buy a little $15 space-heater and set its temp to kick on when it gets below 70º -- the mylar usually has an insulating effect keeping warmth in. My guess this is from outdoor temperatures and not the mylar but I could be wrong.

Get some air movement inside there.. Couple 6" fans will do.. That will help with keeping humidity down. And for heat you should get a oil radiator . It's the safest style of space heater available and they are very effective. They also come with digital thermostats and the one I've got has a timer.. Set it to kick on when lights go out and vice versa.

Low temps below 60f will stop photosynthesis for about 24hrs and will resume photosynthesis as soon as it's environment reaches suitables conditions. Temps below 40f will stop photosynthesis completely and may take unto a few days to resume even in suitable conditions.. @ 68f you should be ok. Optimal temps are 75-78f @ canopy. As far as humidity 50%rh is fine for veg but for flower you need to get that down to about 25-30%rh. High humidity in flower will increase chances of mold and bud rot.

low temps and high humidity is prime conditions for powdery mildew. i would take some precautionary measures asap. once you get that shit its in the plant forever.

oh so high humidity wont damage the plants in veg and i cant seem to get the temps past 55 right now because it is 44 f and 63% humidity

That's fine for veg but you've got to get those temps up bro.. Don't want to stress the little lady out. And she will grow slow as ever in those temps..

yeah i think its because of the out side temps are 44 f and 63% humidity and thats out side and my shed is on the side of my stairs out side

good shit yeah both i train muay thai and bjj have not had any mma fights yet but have had muay thai fights ok so the temps in my room are 56.3 f and 70% humidity i need to get my temps up huh

When you put up the mylar you trapped in the excess moisture that has been leaching into the wood of your shed. Higher humidity means more water in the air and that will lower the temps in your grow area. Especially if you don't have a heat source in that room besides your lights.

I fight also.. MMA/Jui Jitsui... But on topic... What kind of light are you using? And what stage ofmgrowth are you in?

carne seca i like that so should i just take down the mylar and say fuck it and sir gonzo i am useing 400 watt hps for veg and am going to flower with a 1000 watt and i am also going to flower at three feet and how may fights have you had and at what weight and where are you fighting out of

6-1 155lbs.. If your in veg you could run a MH for 24 hrs for a few days and that will dry up excess moisture in air. I'm not sure what your lighting schedule is but as long as your not in flower you can switch to 24 hr veg.. And trust me the MH will drop that humidity about 40-50%.

cool 155 i fight at 220 in muay thia but am going to fight at 205 in mma well i am runing 18/6 and never got around to geting a mh light

Sorry about for the late response. :( But Sir Gonzo has an excellent idea. You can also add a small heater with temperature controls. You can set a certain temp and it will maintain that temps (which will stabilize your girls) and lower your humidity. Either way is great. :)
