Help! Quick question on Fans & Filters?

In the past I've grown low smell strains which start smelling when they flower. Odor has not been much of an issue. Now I'm getting into Blueberry and BigBud. My veg tent, only uses Hi Output fluro's. Heat is not an issue here but i know these will start smelling. So.....bongsmilie

1) Do you buy a filter that is rated less then the Fan? For ex. should i buy a 94 cfm rated carbon filter for a 220 cfm fan? Or would i want a filter that is close but a little less than the fan?

Thanks for the info.

no, its not a dumb question dude, I'm thinking about this all the time as I'm growing Blue Cheese, Kushberry and Whiteberry. All gonna be stinky, BUMP and we'll figure it out together mate.

I'm venting out my tent and into my spare bedroom. I actually jst bought a 6 inch 350 cfm vortex fan. I was also lucky enough to run across a thread on DIY carbon filters. If they work it will save me $$$. I'll try to post the link.

The info is under, The ultimate Odour control thread. I can't seem to find info on how to post links but I'll do some more searching later when i get a chance.

Whew, jst finished making my own carbon filter. It only took me 3 hrs to sow a double stitch down the center of some terrycloth and staple the thing together. Now I only need some more activated carbon and I'm gold.

i made a DIY carbon filter a while ago and was dissapointed, i found out that they use a different type of activated carbon than the stuff i was using from the pet store

Oh that sucks! I put in the hrs I owe it to myself to try it. The pre filter for a Honeywell is supposed to work well. I couldn't find one at the store so i'll look online. Thanks.
