Help! seedlings keeling over, dying

This is the third seedling that this has happened to.

The seedling looks healthy and then one time when I water it it starts to droop and eventually dies.

PLEASE HELP ASAP!!

Facts:

Lights: a "grow" floresent (2 inch away) and a "grow" bulb in a heat lamp (~1 ft away).

I am watering twice a day with distilled water, spraying with a spritzer.

Possible causes:
- overwatering
- somehow the water on the leaves is hurting it
- too hot (should i turn the heat lamp off???)

What are the specs of the light? Could be over watering, its hard to stay. Why don't you just stake it up until it grows more sturdy? Do you have a fan on it? That develops stem strength.

I have an osculating fan on them.

I turned off the heat lamp, the first batch I grew with only fluorescents and then about 1 week in I turned on the heat lamp and one died.
I was reading other posts it seems to be that the heat is bad.

But why does this only happen when I water?
I only water when the top layer is dry and I can't penetrate the soil with my finger...

Giving it too much aqua,man.The pot you have it in holds plenty of water for that young'n.KEEP SMOKE ALIVE!!

The heat lamp your using doesn't sound like its meant for growing, is it a HPS or MH? The heat is probably making it wilt. Is there much run off when you water (the soil could actually still be fairly moist). How often do you water? What watt is your fluro?

Bulbs:

The heat lamp has a special "grow" bulb in it. Its incandescent. I think this is the brand (I found it in my parent's stash of various bulbs in the basement).

this happend to me my first 3 grows
i moved my lights up and turned the fan off and they lived
no fan untill 3 weeks old

cfls dude, too much heat, overwatering possibly, what kind of soil is it?

Is da heat lamp mate its too powerful for the seedling at this point,, this happened to me. Wait until the stem is hard and sturdy then use your heat lamp

stopped watering and turned off heat lamp and my baby is looking healthier than ever. Also, it has a cute curve in the stem where it was bent earlier.
