help Smell/Venting

Hey, new here. Just needed a few pointers on venting.
I made a box 4' wide 2 1/2' deep 5 1/2' tall
I made it for seed to finnish, i have 12 or 14 cfls.
So light heat wont be too crazy. I was thinking 4" to 6" exhaust, because eventually I'm switching to 600w light.
But whats a good method of keeping the smell down. Intake will have closing flaps so when exhaust isn't on it will shut.
Is there a DIY way for making a smell killer? and how quite are the exhaust fans these days?
Are they easy to install and how often should it be on?
Can I vent this box twice a day for a hour or two at a time?

You can DIY a filter put to tell you the truth you only save 30 bucks and it takes hours. And just not worth it to me. Get a 6inch fan and a higher cfm filter. Put filter in side and vent it out the box. And when you switch to the 600 get a cool hood and run the filtered air thru the hood.

And when you are useing cfl's set it on a temp. But with the 600 have it set to when the light is on so is the fan.

i run a 6" fan with speed control just into the m setting...

one growbright jr filter inside
25 ft of flex tubing to other side of room
fan hooked up
broken down foothill filter (took out small pc case fan and attached it to the air outlet of the fan)

Then I got my C.A.P. ozn JR running (every 10 min) above the drop ceiling where the filter dumps.

And finally, I got a 1 gallon bucket of the ONA PRO gel just open up in the ceiling. (Shake it like every 2 weeks).



I have 0 smell of the girls when the closet is shut (6 of them, 3.5 weeks into flower). Very little smell of ozone, and very little smell of the ona. And the noise level is minimal... cant notice it over the fish tank in my room.



If you are gonna skimp on the filter... u will need two (like me). Or just vent it out a window (but im in a basement with no windows lol.)



I have 4 people living in the house... 3 of them above me... and i have never had a complaint with this setup...

The 1 on the same floor as me will notice it if I leave my bedroom door open when I open the closet... but i just blame it on having some bud in the house. (just happened tonight because he was out and came home unexpectedly. I had the closet wide open and bedroom room wide open)

I have my timer set from 8pm to 8am.... i get all my work done at night, like 1am... while everyone is sleeping
