Help this noob!

Hello everyone! This is my first grow and have ran into a problem that i need some advice on. I appreciate any feedback.
I'm growing two northern lights plants from seed that i got from Nirvana. I've built a small grow box (28"×33"x5') for the gals and have 1 450watt Vipar led in it. I'm running coco and perlite mix with Dyna grows foliage pro + cal/mag. My temps are between 70-80 and humidity around 55 but its up and down. Everything was going good until around the 3rd week when i introduced the nutes. I read the bottles of cal/mag and the dyna gro and thought i would try 1/4 strength to start off(about 250ppm). I few days later my lower leaves started to turn yellow. I thought that might be nitrogen deficiency so i assumed that just continuing with 1/4 strenght would fix it. It didn't. At the end of the week they were more yellow and had brown tips. I did some surfing and saw something about testing runoff water. I did and was shocked to see my ppm almost to 700. I then flushed them with the 1/4 strength until it was coming out about the same as it went in. I'm not really sure whats going on with them. The new growth has really slowed down and is very light in color. When everyone talks about ppm's, is that number just nutes or nutes and cal/mag(or any other supplements)?? Forgot to mention my pH has been 5.8-6 going in. Any help would be great

3 weeks in those containers and no roots showing. Hmmm yeah there is a problem there. You are basically flushing seedlings 2 times a week. The roots are drowning and not developing and nutrients are not being absorbed. Hence the deficient look, stunted growth, and droopy leaves. Personally, if this were my grow I would likely transplant at this point and keep the new medium moist but not soaked. I would continue the Dyna grows after a few days at 1/4 strength. That product is rich in nitrogen and will be needed once it is able to be absorbed.

All this is of course just my opinion...please get others and make your own conclusions.

The first week on those containers was very slow growth as i had just my germinated rockwool cubes in them. Not sure if that counts for "weeks in veg"..?? Only my last two feedings/watering were more of a flush i think. Thanks for your input.

Personally, I think of the first 2 weeks as seedling stage. The roots are developing and the stem is strengthening. Vegging begins after transplant.

After consistently overwatering my young plants, I started to only water them when I was 100% sure they needed it. Which, basically is when the container is super ultra duper light. They stems will droop a tiny bit though...but that was the extreme, now I know how to water from that trial and error phase. Less is more for youngings.

Good luck bro.

Thanks man. I was really trying not to overwater. I few times i thought they would start to wilt. The pictures did come a day after i flushed.

Hey guys. Thanks for your help. I followed bkbbud's advice and transplanted and went back to 1/4strength nutes. They've really been starting to grow again! All the new growth is looking good too.

I've been growning vegetables from seed for years with great results. I didn't know that cannabis is more delicate or the nutes are stronger. I came to realize that when i was feeding my girls, i was also dumping water on my plants. I think that might have been part of my problem.

I do have one more question though(for now). When talking about 1/4 strength nutes, does that mean 1/4 strenght cal/mag too?

Thanks guys.
