Hi! Im trying to grow a single white widow plant with the intention of using it for a mother plant! I have it underneath a 250w MH lamp,
and some of the lower leafs are wilting and turning brown, anybody know where I'm going wrong? I have trimmed the lower sicker leafs
hoping this would help, should I continue to do so? I have posted pictures for you to have a look! Thanks for your help!

Have you fed it already? You shouldn't need to feed for the first 3 weeks with a good soil. What is your soil, is it well aerated. I use Canna terra vega and bloom with soil.

How often are you watering?

I am watering once a day, started feeding it from about 3 weeks old. The soil is potting compost with gravel, it has some aeration, it does dry out quite well!

Your plant looks like it's in a very small pot. MJ grows roots like you wouldn't believe. If it were me it'd be in the final pot by now (3gal sq. pot). Without proper room for your roots to grow your plant will become root bound and growth will be stunted.

Here's what you do:

Transplant into a bigger pot.

Don't feed for now.

In your bigger pot you won't need to water more often than every 4 days. Top few inches of you soil should be properly dry. Your roots need to breathe!

And don't cut away any plant material.

I will transfer pots today! didnt realise I had to so early. Thanks very much for ur help! It has been very valuable!

I have changed the pot, here's a pic does this look better? any more suggestions to help her become more healthy?

Now wait for the soil to dry out for a few days and don't add any ferts for about two-three weeks now. Also, I'd go out and buy a moisture wand (it'll run you about 7 bucks), I found a combination moisture/pH/light wand for $9 and my local Lowe's, granted it's now going to be as accurate as a digital one but it works for my purposes. Don't water until the moisture level at root level is very low.

Yep, Perlite on your next transplant. Compost is too wet. Let dry for at least 4-5 days. You'll also need to transplant again when you get a good rootball in that pot. Don't worry if it takes up to a week to see growth from that girl, she may be in shock.

Ok here it is, is my plant gonna be useless...I have a female plany that was planted on new years eve, this is the middle of march and I am still on 24 hour light cycle....was gonna maintain it untill day 100 when I changed to a 12 hour cycle..Right now I am using only 100 w flourescent bulbs 2 of them and a 150 agrosun bulb...gonna use a 100W system at day 100......Obviously I have doner nothing with the light cycle to promote a sex....Will this plant be worth anything when she buds? BTW this is in Soil.

Homescientist. This is a thread started by somebody else. I'm sure people will be able to help you with your question but it'll be easier if you start a new thread.

it is rootbound, good move on transplanting, do as they say dont feed nute's the brown will not go away but as long as it does not get bigger and does not brown on the new growth you will be fine, make sure you dont let it do this again :)
cheers

get your plants in as big of container that you can. the bigger the root system is the better. try to get into 1-3 gallon by week 3. you dont want to get bound in small pots.
