HELP! Wanting to start a grow in a Ponopticon Country, some questions.

Dear all, newbie here. I have been lurking around for sometime now and would love to make use of the collective knowledge of this amazing community. Has anyone ever done a grow in a country where it is highly unadvisible to do so, and by 'highly', i really mean HIGHLY (so high that you can Hang comfortably *wink)? I am thinking of making my own medicine to deal with post-traumatic arthritis after a horrid accident some years ago and have a couple of questions. Please do chip in as well even if you do not live in the same place as I do.

1. Which supplier do you order from to ensure the highest stealth possible (i know, i know, there aren't 100% stealth)? Have you heard of anyone getting busted (as in being visted by the Blueband) for importing seeds? I am thinking of either Attitude, Seedsman or SeedSupreme.

2. Which strain would you recommend for a year-round climate of 30 Cel and 80% humidity? I am thinking of getting Dinafem's Industrial CDB.

3. Any way to hide the smell of a flowering plant, or do the flowers actually smell like innocent flowers so neighbours' wouldn't be so nossy? I am thinking of doing some gardening on my balcony (20 sth floor so there will not be any prying eyes).

Lol no, they dont smell like innocent little flowers they smell like weed in flower man. 20th floor or not makes no difference other people on that side of the building are going to smell it no doubt and yes if they dont agree with your practice then mofos gunna get you busted bro. You're talking about hanging n shit bro no slap on the wrist n off with ya. Hanged bro! I would get myself the hell out of whatever kinda messed up country that hangs people for weed like pronto. Wow thats hectic

I'm with you, I've done a lot of things that have threatened my life if they went poorly but I've never skated on the wrong side of the govt that way. I could have gotten 20+ years a few times , but never would I have gotten the death penalty. I love weed, but not enough to die for it.

At the very least if you're going to do it you'd need to be able to run a sealed environment (which would likely draw attention as it pulls a lot of power. Only 1kwh for a light but then you need multiple fans, dehumidifier/a.c., inline fan for your filter, water and air pumps etc. It's a pretty noticeable increase, even with smaller lights it's a big difference.

Your only real option would be going more rural, there's always guerilla growing, which is lower-ish risk but it's also kind of a crapshoot.

In all honestly it's probably not worth it in your situation .

Not like innocent little flowers? Damn. Any high CBD strains with low smell you would recommend? The strain i am planning on is the Industrial CBD by Dinafem, any idea how they will smell? When my neighbours cook curry, i can smell it, so if i grow some flowers, will they smell it too? Thanks mate.

Thanks Gum. I live in a concrete jungle so there is not really a rural area i could move to. If i have an indoor built w/o filtering, would the smell be noticable?

Absolutely. Literally everyone probably on your floor as well as the one above and below you, more depending on the buildings ventilation. I'm 6 weeks in to flower and I have a 12x30 filter and can still smell it upstairs just a little because of my central air.

Ahh..well, my building has no central ventilation, i live in the tropics you see so our building don't really have a central unit to regulate airflow; so the smell will have to drift around through the windows. but i guess like you said, the smell will still be noticable. Would the smell be less if i use small-Auto strains that harvest in approx 60 days?

I don't really think so, some strains do smell less, I suppose companion planting strong smelling herbs may help too. A good fan blowing it outward away from the building so it has time to disperse more may help too, but a windy day would be your worst enemy.

Autos can be tough to grow but a single plant surrounded by basil and rosemary might be hard to notice. But they can be finicky so you might end up losing a harvest here and there but if you can live on a couple ounces every month or so itd be a viable option. Pop a seed every time your current plant goes into flower--a friend of mine does this in a not quite as strict Asian country because he's entirely incapable of functioning unmedicated.

I think you are definetly going to need a stealth grow operation here. Small tent, carbon filter and extractor go with low power usage lighting maybe cfl's ya wont yield alot using these lights but much less chance of being caught out for power usage you will get smokeable product just not alot of it. Or like i said befor just dead set get out of any country that hangs people for weed or simply live without it lol

That's an idea. I am indeed thinking about growing herbs alongside too.

Thx mate, google turn up some results for me as well but most of the strains listed are hard THC hitters and i am only looking for CBD for medical purposes. Edit: it is a shame that most of the ones in the links have pretty low CBD..

I would do a tent grow if i had the space :/ but it is just that i am living in a concrete jungle. To be honest, where i live is not really a bad place really, but it is just that our politicians are backwatered, sclerotic conservatives. I honestly need CBD products (which is illegal) to deal with just everyday living since opioid-based meds give me really bad tummy and rock-hard (occasionally with red-tinge) stools, so magic plants are kind of my desperate attempt to cling onto a life worth living.

To be honest, where i live is not really a bad place really, but it is just that our politicians are backwatered, sclerotic conservatives. I hear ya man im not saying you dont need it for health issues and what not im just saying if you are going to do it DO NOT do it on your balcony you will get busted for sure especially as it is so ridiculously illegal there. Tents come in all shapes and sizes bro you can get a small tent enough for a plant or 2. Grow autos they take less time how much do you think you will need say to see you through until your next plant is ready to crop? If say an ounce or 2 will last you the 60 odd days ot takes for your next plant to be ready then thats all you need a little tent carbon filter and extractor some low power consumption lights (cfls t5s etc) to avoid suspicion and your gold and remember the golden rule tell nobody about your grow cant stress this enough all it takes is 1 loose lipped mofo to get you hanged bro LITERALLY in your case lol

Also, just out of curiosity. Can you actually get seeds? I know you said you have already found a particular strain you woulld like to grow but question is do they deliver to your country? I mean if you can get the death penalty for growing weed i would hazard a guess that they dont allow seeds being shipped in either. Guess it would come down to how thorough your countrys customs are really. Worth a thought.

Thx mate. I think i will explore the option of putting up a small tent on my balcony and installing carbon filters, but then i would be kind fo wasting the year-round sunshine i have here. I was asking around in a spanish forum about Dinafem's Industiral CBD Auto, and some kind soul told me that he smelt nothing when growing his, but i still need to confirm it with others.

As for the seeds, stealth delivery will have to cut it and i heard gd things about the way Attitude do things. It is only the chopping blocks if i am shipping like >500g worth of seeds, so if i ever get caught for a couple, i would probably have to explain it away or do community work (worse come to worse, i am willing to argue for it with the constitution on my side).

Our customs is quite capable actually. Just recently some dude shipped like 500g of medicine (stealth shiped in a Tanktop) and was busted. It sure would be suspicious like a Tanktop should weigh 500g..

If you do ever get caught ordering seeds just tell them youre a seed collector and you didnt know it was illegal to collect and preserve seeds. I live in a mobile and i grow in a small closet in that mobile home. Im dead center in the middle of my trailer park so smeel was a huge concern for me. NL is a good low smelling strain. It might not be what u want to hear but if youre scared of getting caught dont stick that plant outside your home youre safer with it inside. We would all love to use the sun for our lighting but stealth growing is stealth growing. You can do this safely. I grew 1 plant in my small closet yielded over 4 oz dry and that was my 1st plant. They gave you some good advice. Id get me a little 2x2 or 3x3 tent 4" carbon filter and a 300 watt blurple led light and youre set to go for 250$

Thx for the advice. I heard about NL as well and industrial plant has the genes of NL, so i was kind of hoping that Dinafem's Industrial CBD Auto would have a milder smell than others. How big is your closet btw? I would love to read your growth journal.
