!HELP! What is better...White walls or Aluminum/ Metal walls for grow room

Im setting up my room and I was wondering what I should get for the walls. They have these boards that have aluminum on one side of them I was thinking about using or just getting regular boards and painting them white. Help me out. late

i would go with aluminium boards, as i use foil on my reflectors and walls. everybodys saying that thin foil is burning plants, but im using it 50th day and theres no burns at all. i think its a big, stupid myth.

others will say that white paint reflects better than aluminium, but how can paint reflect light more than mirror!? whell aluminium is something like mirror.

PS im using CFLs, maybe HPS could make hot spots, i really dont know.

wow great point. Let me tell you what Im using....... I have a grow room of about 12x7 and about 6 feet high. I have two 1000W HPS I will be putting in there..... now what do you think? I dont want to burn anything. thanks

Its all personal choice, both white and reflective work great. With reflective, you can risk having hot spots, especially if there are any creases.
Do you got a pic or link of these boards???

Aluminum foil or any other kind of reflective surface will reflect the heat as well as the light. So if your worried about heat I would go with the white walls as they will only reflect the light back at the plants.

do not use aluminium it is shit! since youve invested so much money in the lights why not go spend $15 on mylar.

Mylar is expensive tin foil.
Its almost like tin foil, just a few bucks more expensive.

oh and sorry, no pics yet. I will when I start the room. Going to homedepot tonight to get either the aluminum or white walled boards. Anyone else? White or Aluminum? I think I might have a lot of heat, so im leaning on the white side

mylar is 90% reflective and and aluminium foil is 20-30% reflective! your choice.

If you even think that you are going to have a heat issue chances are you will...twice what you think it will be...go white board. If you want to later you can add the mylar...

just buy the reflective wrapping paper....or those emergency blankets...you can them at you local friendly wall-mart lol bestards....

well Im thinking about the heat aspect of it all and I don't want to burn my plants. Two 1000W HPS could get kinda hot with only a fan cooling the room down. I've also heard that hot room produce loose buds. Not what I want. SO WHITE IT IS?????

Just dont listen to farmer. Tin foil can burn your plants especially if there are creases. Also tin foil doesnt reflect that much light as compared to mylar. Id go with the mylar its the stuff thats on the inside of chip bags, so if your really budgeting save your chip garbage and put those up!

If you are really unsure and concerned about heat, always play it safe, and just go with the white. You can always buy mylar later and just tack it up over the white.

I think panda film is a good choice. it`s white on 1 side and black on the other and it cleans easy.

I found a source for mylar pretty cheap. Go to an "outdoors supply" sporting good store and ask for the "Emergency Blanket" or "Space Blanket". For anywhere between .99 and 2.00 youll get a 5x8 sheet of mylar. I got about a dozen and a couple cans of spray adhesive. Spray the walls with adhesive, and carefully smooth the mylar on the wall.

ok so foil is cool for cfls n shit thats cool because the cfl looses light as it travels so that makes itbe close and if it reflects it aint shit to cum back anyway, doesnt get to hot, and its cheap u just bought me a new light thanks... wut else u got ??
