help what is wrong with my plants

This plant was grown outdoor at my buddys house. The leaves are very ruff and bumpy and the edge of the leaves are curled upward. Does anyone know what the plant might have and how to fix it? Please help or should I toss it.

Maybe its a bit under fed or over fed with water that's all i can say.
