I brought in a plant which was getting too tall for the garden as it is a shared garden it was getting eaten outside but not as much as when I brought her in.

I noticed last night there was a web going over one of the leaves so I panicked a bit and ripped it off.

I have sprayed with a bit of washing up liquid and water today as my money is minus and topped of all the tops to try keep her at a reasonable height.
I have inspected the leaves on top and underneath but other than the holes I cant see anything.

Is there any other cheap way to get of them?

Do they prefer the warmth or cold?

Other than the obvious how is she looking?

No. They are not spider mites. Mites don't create holes.....the just suck the juices and it shows by spots on the leaves. Initially I would guess and say a silica overdose but it could be a number of things. I might have guest some type of insect damage but since you can't find any, silica is my guess right now.

Before you get ahead of yourself, that is not spider mites. The web you saw was probably just a spider web.

The holes are from caterpillars, snails or slugs and since you brought it inside, I wouldnt worry about it.

The plant looks healthy.

I found mites on a palm I had indoor that I bought from home depot yesterday.. They are usually tiny red dots... I left it on the sidewalk across the street then vacuumed for an hour lol.
