Help with Ballast won't stay lit

Hello RIU.

Hoping someone can help me out.

I went down this evening to check on the plants. Light was out. I unplugged my lumatek 400w digital ballast and then plugged it in.. the bulb fired up for a second or two and then turned off.. I switched bulbs and the same thing happened?


Any ideas? Is my ballast toast?

I have cheap Phillips bulbs but I don't think its the bulb.

The lumatek ballast I have is the older style with the white button on one end.

Try diff outlet

Thanks... It wasn't the outlet as I have a smaller 250 w magnetic ballast that is working just fine.
