help with CFL Please guys

hey there, im building a growbox and have got a 150w CFL and just wondering if any knows what fuse id need.
if anyone can help would be awesome!

fuse? Most 150w CFLs screw into any light fixture. 150w is really really low (my desktop computer is 450w) so you don't need to worry about any fuses.
 
bonzi, come on man, no need for that, i just joined forum to ask people who know what they are doing!

thanks for answering me gastanker, im in uk and our plugs have loads of different fuses and ive blown bulbs before because of, like we have 3 amp, 7 amp and 13 amp! il go with a 3 amp!

Really? that's interesting.
So like your normal household socket has its own fuse? Do you have them in the wall outlets too?
 
that is kinda weird. i am glad i don't have those in my house. i have never heard of it before but you learn something new everyday. this is why you should never jump on someone until you understand where they are coming from
 
Seriously people if he can't figure out a 150w light bulb, he has no business growing and burning down the flat.

If you were to ask my grandmother if 150w was a lot or a little she would have no idea. I personally think everyone should know their watts and volts and amps and the like but not all do. If anything the OP was trying to be safe by asking.
 
I've never seen a 150w cfl you can screw into a standard light socket. At least most need a mogal base. He might have gfi outlets. just a thought.

They are starting to make silly high W CFLs with a standard base. I think you can get up to 250w
 
Amazing read but nowhere in there does it state the amps of a 150w light. To be honest he did make a mistake - he should have posted this question on a European electricians forum (or just googled it).

Amps are just a function of watts and voltage,

OMG watts and voltage came back with over 6Mil hits on google, like I said do a little reading and until then stay in Newbie Central.
