Help with clones

I took clones about 5 days ago from some of my plants. My process was: cut a side branch just below a node at an angle, strip the bottom leaves for extra root growth, give them a healthy dip in clonex, then plant directly into rapid rooter plugs and put under my humidity dome.

The issue is, almost immediately after transplant the clones drooped all the way over and now 5 days later the leaves have all wilted and look like they are dead. I made sure to spray the inside of the humidity dome 2-3 times a day and give a light mist onto the plants and plugs to keep them damp. They are in an 18-6 light cycle and at a temp of between 75-85 degrees at all times.

I guess what I'm wondering is, should I have just planted into rockwool instead of the rapid rooter plugs? Also, should I just wait it out and see if they recover at all or is there anything I can do to try and keep them alive? Thanks in advance.

are they still green? 5 days isnt that long .. just wait a week or so ... look for any sign of new growth .. did you use a heating mat under your plants to keep the soil warm?

As of now they are MOSTLY green, but the leaves are wilting fast and showing some yellow. I also noticed the stem on 2/3 was turning a tiny bit yellow. I know they aren't dead yet, but they are right on the cusp. No new growth as of today. =/

hmmm .. you used ph'd water to soak the plug before you used them .. have you tried spraying them with a mix of ph'd water and superthrive? i use it with my new clones

I've been wary of adding anything to my water because I've heard a lot of people say that it can really mess up your root growth... plus, I use Bio Root and don't have superthrive. But yes, the water is tap water that has been standing for 48+ hours and tested at PH around 6-6.5 tops.

You didn't say anything about your lights, and everything else you said sounds pretty right, so Im guessing maybe too much light... they do not need much light at all, I don't even give my direct light until I am pretty sure there are roots.

hmm, that could be the problem, although they are only sitting under 4 CFL's (about 4" above the actual clones) in a box that's basically 2x2x2. At this point I won't remove em from the light, but in the future would it be better to leave em in mostly darkness for the first 2-3 days?

id just give em a little time .. and i would also get some superthrive if your able .. little bottle goes a long way 1 drop a liter one ... of the few things that really work as promised imo .. mix it with your foliar spray .. but give them time like i said .. most of mine look shitty for 7 to 10 days ..

happy growin
