Help With CrawlSpace Growroom

Howdy RollItUp, first time poster long time fan
I am preparing a grow that is about 9 feet by 9 feet, buttt less than 4.5 ft in height
I plan to buy 10 seeds of new york city diesel tomorow and germ them in root cubes under flouro's...i am putting together a general idea for the grow room once in full veg and then flower stage
any ideas/tips/suggestions on such a short grow? what do i need to consider? keep in mind? look out for?
also is this a good strain choice?

Pineapple express is awsome, Seth Rogen's comedy is the best thing to hit hollywood, it makes me proud to be from Vancouver BC ....ps how would it 'inspire' me? there one scene at the end that shows a grow and it the size of a fucking warehouse... ive grown before this isnt my first grow , the only thing im inspired by is the fact that growing is the smartest thing to do if your passionate about pot.

Christ there was no need to get all defensive! This is a stoner forum and we rip on each other from time to time, get used to it.
As for your grow, 4'+ is more than quite a few people on here grow with, I only have about 5' of headroom and have never had problems because of it.
The simplest thing to do is to start flowering when they are about half the size they can grow to without being too close to the light (got anything lined up for flowering them under?) If you want to make the most of your floorspace, I'd suggest looking into LST or SCROG. If you don't fancy setting a screen up over each plant (it is kinda restrictive if you need to move em) then check out fdd's thread https://www.rollitup.org/advanced-marijuana-cultivation/56976-advanced-lst-old-school-bonsai.html which lets you position the branches wherever you want without faffing about tying them all down like conventional LST.
Sorry, not grown/smoked nyc diesel so can't tell you if it's appropriate for this type of grow or not. Type it into google, you should get a bit of info that way.

first off i gotta say i see wut pineapple is sayin and i both agree and respect that.
2nd im pretty sure ny diesel is a small growing strain.
3rd yes ull be fine in that grow area, you might want to consider topping the plants and using a scrog.

You may want to have a look at the threads on Pinching and Bending. If you cant go tall go bushy. i make due with 32 gal garbage cans(bottoms cut to allow more space), it can be done bro : ) Also, if you got dirt in that crawl space dig out spots for your plants to sit down into. That should get you at least 8 more inches. Hope you can keep your ladies warm under there. Remember to act early on training your plants to be low riders, you know, but not too early. I'd estimate 3 weeks. Some PPls tie down branches others dont like it. Just remember to leave slack on your loops so shes got some room to grow where its attached to the plant. I use both pinching and tieing down and they dont seem to care one bit. Others report higher yields also from pinching. From lookin at my buds one plant that had a branch broken the budz were about 15% bigger on that one branch when it was done. Maybe there is some truth to it. This is my first run on pinching, im into the second week of flowering. Remember your pruning techniques too! Just some food for thought, look for those threads tho bro. You can make your own opinion. Soo much useful info already discussed and posted, just got to use that search tab.

Relax man. As the above poster said, we rip on each other. We are ALL friends and family.

ok my cabinet is 30" x30" x 4' it depends on how your planing to grow them.... and the lights your going to use will make a huge difference.... I have a 400 watt hps in my little cabinet and it works just great.... the only problem I've run into is my plants can sometimes out grow the cabinet so I end up tieing them down....

you can do LST to your plants and do like 4-6 in the same area and they will eventually fill it out.... but it all has to do with your lighting.... your not going to be able to raise your light that high meaning your area of High lumen light is going to be pretty much directly below the light for probably 5' x 5' you can go in the Growfaq and find the chart they have for the watt of light per sq ft...... you may wanna buy 2 or 3 lights to get good coverage.... otherwise you might as well just do like 4 plants at a time like I did and get some dank buds Oh yeah and if your gonna do all 10 of them at once don't put them in huge pots, like 2 gallon max you don't want your plants to go over about 26", that's when one of mine started to get really stressed...

SCROG and LST dynamite ideas that i had not considered, but i am excited to tie them down now, is this worth the sacrifice of the lower leaves forced to eat dirt untill i clip them to promote airflow? IndicaFavor i appreciate the emphasis on pinching and tieing as well as pruning, i will dust up on my skills... though i am not to familiar with pinching, what does this involve?
Great idea about expanding my grow height guys i really appreciate that...but the crawlspace is concrete...and now vaporlocked, which brings me to my next question: should i be concerned with heat? what can i do to heat up? what am i aiming for?

I'm growing Soma's NYCD at the minute and had to tie down the main stem, mine looks more sativa dominant.... Tying down gives less stress than topping I think but both can greatly increase yeild potential.. If topping do so when the desiels have about four internoids , but most of all enjoy your grow any advice you'd like feel free to ask.. may not know the answer but NYCD sure is a good choice dude. I grew from clone one plant before and loved it

I'm a hobbyist who grows for personal consumption in a crawl space.

I grow in my crawl space using a 2' x 2' x 4' tent style grow box. I use 2 x 125W CFL plus 4 x 45W CFL. Heat is exhausted using a 4" duct booster fan attached to a DIY carbon filter. The hydro setup is a flood table. I find the screen system (inverted xmas tree) works great. Inside the chamber i have a fan for circulation. Last year a bought a cheap PH/Temp/EC meter off ebay (china).I plan on adding a CO2/Temp/RH sensor that will interface the exhaust fan and 1500PPM CO2 bottle/solenoid.

I just started 5 seedlings of supreme skunk. I only keep the strongest female.

Supreme skunk is a short fat hight volume plant that flowers in 7 weeks. The stone is chronic

Some day I want to add more tents so I can grow multiple strains and save mothers.

It's possible for sure, just watch your temps tho 80*F is ideal with good air circulation . CFL's would be the best for that space and you could set up multiple rows so you're getting better lumens per sqft with a cheaper electric bill than a 250 or 400w hps. Are you going to have multiple rooms for a continuous harvest or just change the lights? get some mylar or similar product to reflect the most light to the undergrowth aswell. umm and the best advice is to not take what people say here personally, just steal their knowledge. Oh ya look into autoflowering strains or lowryders, they do not grow very tall. and with most set ups I've done I notice it takes 2-3 times to get that setup dialed in and plants thriving, gl man.

YE ye! I set-up a bit of insulation under the vapor-lock the heat will not be a problem i can cook it up a few dozen *F and i already got Mylar haha Prepared like a boy-scout right?
anyways the seeds are germing cant wait to see how many break seed, cuz this strain is gonna be like a cannon

Nice work, you got a roll of 6lb. test fishing string scout? LOL thats what i use for tying. did you put black plastic on the dirt in there or whats goin on?

I'd be looking into L.E.D.s, but no matter what light you use, this is how I'd start. Germ all your seeds and grow them nice and big. Identify the females and get all the clones you can handle, then do a SOG.... or scrog from the start.

L.E.D ? like light emitting diode? for realz? i was hoping i could get a HPS light for flowering but....LED's? does that actually work? in what quantities?
ALL SEEDS ARE IN GERM RIGHT NOW!!! i gots a pic of 10 seeds floating around in some bottled water with a BLUE CITY DIESEL package right in view! im so stoked! this is the best strain i have ever gone for! anyone bet on 8 females? cuz thats my guess 8D
so whats the difference from me tieing down the stock of the plant...like towards the soil? and tieing the leaves so they catch more light? or.. or putting thick wire around the plant so i can bend it in the way i want?
