Help with designing my 32x6 attic grow

This summer i will be preparing to upgrade my indoor grow room to my attic rather than a spare room.

My intentions are to have a veg area... flowering area.... cloning area.... mother area...

being in the attic I have 3 ways to vent... one at each end and one at the center of the front of the house.

As you can see, i need to insulate... picture #4 is the outlet to the left of the stairs in picture#1....

I posted pictures of the circuit board cause im in no way shape or form an electrician and didnt know if it would help.

how can i see if the outlet will support the wattage required? (doubt it will) if not... how do i make it so it will.

I was thinking.... i would insulate the roof and the sides where the 2x4s run horizontal. Then i would plays white vinyl for reflection straight down the sides and on the ceiling.

Im looking to run as many watts as possible/grow as many plants as possible but still move have SOME walking space.

Id also say the roof is about 6 foot high.

Please only post useful questions/answers... i know i may not of given all the required info but i gave what i thought was possible.... I am kinda hoping an individual with some free time could develop an optimal floor plan for me to aim for.

I want to run veg led as well as clone and mother. hps for flower

Thank you for all.

Damn, that looks like the start of a bad ass setup, plenty of space.(yea, I'm  with envy)

I would definitely go heavy duty on the insulation, just remember to leave a small air gap (3/4 to 1") between the insulation and the underside of the roof decking to allow for air flow.

What method of growing are you looking at going with?

i see at least lots open spots on panel
u got to look at main breaker see what it rated for and then add up all the amps u pulling in the house on average
some things in house draw power 24/7 some cycle on and off
just cuz u got space add a new line dont mean it is safe

Id put the out going air threw the back vent (toward B.yard) and use the other two for in coming air. and led lights would be good for veg, and reminder to cover the damn insulation real good and to make sure you have no leaks or any way moister can settle and cause moist air.

You legally growing that? Because roof setups are the most often busted with FLIR. Specially when you are venting directly out the house. Don't get busted man, that looks like its going to be a sweeeet setup. Would be a crime to stop it!

I don't know enough about electricity to know what you would need to do to run it but I'd section off a 20' run for flower and have a walkway down the middle with 5 2'x4' flood tables each under an aircooled 600W on either side. Have the 12'x6' area for veg and mother plants. Get someone who knows what they're doing with electricity to set it up because that's going to pulling some heavy amperage even on 240V. I can't make any recommendations about LEDs for veg on that scale as I've only looked into them for micro spaces and that's a whole different ballgame.

I did an attic grow for years.
Here are a couple tips.
- Run water up there < you do not want to be lugging water up to your attic every few days.
- Don't go hydroponic in your attic < if you get a leak you will have to replace all your ceilings.
- Put pond liner on the floor and a few inches up the wall < its heavy duty rubberized plastic that is made to take a beating and is easy to clean and will save you a lot of trouble in the long run.
- For your walls I would just use the square part of your attic and run insulation down the walls and then make your actual walls out of foiled foam board they are easy to cut and hang by yourself and it will give you a much better sealed room then plastic and also help with insulation.
- Use metal tape on most if not all seals < it gives a better seal and you won't need to replace it as much.
- If you need an electrician to put more outlets up there do that first < if they ask why you can say you are building a workshop or something but as long as nothing is up there yet they may think its weird but its money in there pocket and its not too unusual and its best to have each one on its own 20 amp circuit
- If you have central air and can run duct to your rooms do. < its much easier to then figuring out another way and should be cheaper.
- duct your lights and if you do 1000 watts or a long run of lights use 8 in ducted hoods they run much cooler and in a attic you need that.
- Think about doing a one week interval perpetual grow < it is much easier trimming on 1 plant a week then 10-20 all at once and you will start to see the progression and then you will be able to see when to add what.
- Think about doing a organic grow with dry amendments and reusing your soil so you do not have to bring pots up and down from the attic and have to worry about getting rid of soil< look into ROLS in the organic section

Anyway that should get you started.

I disagree about not running hydro in an attic but everything else in there is solid advice.

Word ty alllllll! Im going to try to find a close electrian. I will be looking into insulation and hopefully purchasing thid weekend. Good idea on the workshop cover.

As far as helicopters....... I live in a small small town located outside a medium to small size city.... I doubt I will have problems however the blockers sound great. But its my understanding that IR detects heat ie exhaust.... I can't block that.

I will be slowly piecing this together.

More tips/help greatly appreciated
