Then 4-5 days hanging then 1 day down on paper? Under my massive carbon filter that peasant cheap.. I think the carbon filter is sucking all the lifeboat of the bud through out?? Any help and advice welcome :)

from what i see which im given very little info and am a bit buzzed but it seems you are maybe drying too long for the small plant you may or may not have and are skipping a proper cure...idk only thing i can come up with from what im given..i would go from cutting the plant to a 2 day dry and straight to jars after being careful to cure properly and not mold...an early cure always beats a late cure

"Then crop wen more than 50% orange/Brown hairs."

this would be the area I would look at...this doesn't come across as a very accurate way to judge a finished product...g/l

You may be harvesting too soon. Better to look at trichs. But I would bet prob is with your curing process. Read up on it.

It takes weeks to cure right and flavor and odor slowly develop. I am still learning myself...

trust me the carbon filter is not sucking the strong scent out of the buds. its the genetics of the plant . if your using some a clone you got chances are the person that cloned it for you fault, what happens , you plant a seed , and cut a clone from it, flower the mom. and next time the clone grows, you cut a clone from it and flower the plant. and so on and so on, further you get away from the seed the worse the product, even if it looks good , the end result will be depending on how far it is away from see. they do lose the genetics, trust me I know ! I have been through this before , usually takes about 5 different clones away from the seed mother to get a lot less quality, but for no smell your prob like 10 cuts away, hope you understand what im saying, get a clone from some where else

Everything you do to the plant during it's 4 month life will effect the end product.

Factors that effect the taste at the end.

1. Genetics - If it's NOT supposed to smell and taste like lemons it never will.
2. Growing Method _ Soil and Hydro has different end flavor ( I personally prefer soil grown)
3. Nutes - Not so much the brand you give em but how much.. Watch the plant she will tell you what she needs.
4. Let the plant mature properly don't rush ( if from seed let em show sex on there own) (If from clone grow em to the height you want then flip)
5. Let them finish, get a scope and check the trichs (NOT THE BROWN CALYX's) Once the plant starts to finish she will slow CALYX growth way down ( almost stops) and those turn brown as a result. Once you get to this point you will see in most cases copious amount of trichome growth (and depending on the strain yo will get foxtail growth as well) and this is where our medicine is at, The Calyx doesn't have the THC we are looking for but the trichs have it..
6. Dry it properly (I am not going to get into the process here there are so many tutes regarding this)( The slower you can dry the better the taste will be. this is when most of that hay taste is removed from the bud. That hay taste is Chlorophyl and is removed by a slow dry)
7. ANd most importantly is the CURE. Do it slow and be patient it is NOT cured until the relative Humidity balances out at 62%, and the bud Carboxalizes (SP?), in my Opinion this process takes 5-6 weeks at 62%rh

BUT THEN AGAIN I AM A STONER

I don't agree with this, a clone is a genetic duplicate of the plant you took it from. However there are many who think a clone loses something after a while, I personaly have never seen this I have plants that are on there 20ish run and show NO signs of any degradation in any phase of growth including yield. I am not saying it doesn't happen, I just don't buy into it.

Ok thanks guys will leave abit longer . What do you mean cure? If it's dry its ready to sell right?

Curing is part of the "drying" process. Basically putting in jars and slowly getting moisture out of the mid of the bud, to the outside and then out altogether. You need to study this!

My SIL is an outdoor grower. To him, it's chop, dry for a week & it's good to go. Ever been around a brush fire? That's much like it in terms of taste & smell. He's a good grower, but that's the way his daddy did it (dry, no cure) and that's what he knows. I'm going to fix that, though.
