So this is my second time growing, and switched from soil to hydro. I have read books and done hours of research.
I am using a bucket system ( CAP's Ebb and Gro) and currently have 8 buckets with seedlings.
I want to have a perpetual cycle with a flowering room/ veg room. I have a 15 ft long, 5 ft wide, and 8ft tall space. I was thinking a 5x5 flowering room, and a 10x5 veg room. The buckets are 2 gallons, came with 12 in the system, but thinking to upgrade to 5 gallons( make my own). I was thinking to veg the first round long enough to sex the plants( turn them to mothers), and in the meantime get clones to veg for 2 weeks, then flower. My seedlings are sweet tooth and have a flowering time of 6 weeks or sooner.( thinking it will help shorten cycles by two weeks or more to sneak in more harvests per year)
Has anyone ever heard of doing a mass veg cycle for a month in hydro, and then flowering with a 1000w hps on top, and additional 1000w hps lamps on every side of the grow room( mounted perpendicular to the plant) with 5 lamps total? I was thinking of doing this in a SOG in a 5x5 space ( the 5x5 space is for the plants, the extra room for the lights is there and is not factored in growing space). I was also thinking of doing this on an ebb and flow tray table, and hand watering every day so nutrients are always fresh and are not circulating.
How fast do flourescents grow? I know there slow compared to a MH but how much slower? The ones I have are 6500K, 40 watt, T12, about 2200 lumens per stick.
