Help with second hand fluorescents

I recently purchased a collection of grow equipment through craigslist. As far as I can tell, a very good get for $175. 400w MH/HPS system, 250w MH light and ballast, multiple fans, mylar, ph test, rope hangers, ducting, inline fan.....a CO2 tank that I haven't even thought about figuring out....I understand Newbie limits!

Well, I also acquired 2 2 tube fluorescent fixtures. Very basic looking but I can't figure out what type tubes they take. They are functioning (I put a T8 40w in and it works). They have have no markings or labels that I can find to determine if I can can put T5's in them.

Any advice? Don't want to burn down the house!

Yes, but to check , just call local hardware store tell them you fixture #'s and you will then know for sure, should be listed on the fixture

if your sure they are t8 just buy some t8 grow bulbs.
hopefully they're t5's though . I love the high output t5's, they rock!

I dont think t5's would fit..? I thought the connections were different sizes.

pull the cover and read the ballast. It will say what light it is
