I'm a, trying to start off right. I have grown before and had some success but it was all bag seed in a closet grow. It's been over a year and in that time the only thing I have salvage is a 600w winged hps light. I a, looking to start off with a better system on a budget so this is what I found
Aquabuckets 5 gallon 4 site deep water culture hydro system with mixing cell and 200 mesh filter $250.00
Ecoplus commercial air 3-35 watt single outlet air pump $56
25 feet 6"duct $20
6" 240cfm air duct $30
Virtual sun vs4800-48 Indoorgrow tent $140
Co2 boost bucket $130
General hydroponic ph control kit $20
Water quality Tds tester $18
General hydroponic Flora series $37
Acurite indoor humidity monitor $10
also please let me know if I am missing anything. I was thinking of putting together my own bucket system but don't know it it will be complicated or even save money in the long wrong. Also was thinking of doing a soil grow just was always told hydroponics was better. Last I am his using all auto seeds this go around.

Id stick to soil(less) with something like Pro-Mix

Youll be able to spend more money on important things and less on the hydro systems.

What style do you want to grow? what is your grow space like?

What is your expected yeild?

Let me know hwat your situation is and ill try to help more

i will be growing all autos. from my understanding i would have to use the SOG method as its the only style conducive to the grow cycle of the plant. The grow then i listed is 4' by 4' by 7'. I am worried less about yield and more about quality. I dont smoke and will not sell this is solely for my wife's recreational use. I dont like the idea of buying something that's covered in chems from some shady guy on the street. Plus you never know what you are getting. I also need a new hobby and growing was fun my first time around. I would like a perpetual grow but in such a small space i dont think that would work.

Silly question
what is the advantage of a soiless mix over soil or hydroponic system.
