I am going to be doing my 2nd grow. I just got a 400w hps light kit that came with mh/hps bulb digital ballast, ropes to hang, and a timer. I have a ph meter on the way. I noticed that in my first grow I had a lot of nute and over nute problems.

I also have 10" pots and my plants are like 3ft so I know I need to get bigger pots.

What I need is a good type of soil with a basic nute blend and feeding schedule so all I have to do is keep my PH at the right level and not have to deal with so many plant problems.

The soil I used the first time was a miracle gro potting soil and I gave it mircale gro ultra bloom nutrient 15-30-15 at random times.

Note I live in canada so some products are different here

Hello if your looking for a good soil fox farms has a very good soil ocean forest that's organic id stay away
from all miracle grow products and monsanto brands miracle grow is all chemical and time release
the best way rout id say is keeping it organic and simple never feed more then 1/4th - 1/2 recommended
dosage organic or not as it is real easy to over feed i feel its always better to underfeed then overfeed
more isn't always better when growing great herb

Miracle grow is pretty bad in enclosed and controlled environments. Because you don't have the natural buffers of the earth problems become apparent fast. Miracle grow is to be used outside and maybe used once or twice.

If you don't care if its chemical or natural then you can go with a 3 part nutrient.. or a two part nutrient.. theres even some really good 1 part. I'm not going to list any just because there's so many out there and so many opinions about nutes

For a good mix SUNSHINE #4 would be a good start and you can get it at home hardwear or any large nursery. Even home depot has it.. season is pretty much over though so it might be hard unless you know a hydro store near you.
