Help with the Best way to instll Exhaust fan in tent?

Hey friends,
I bought a new inline fan for my tent and man it seems pretty heavy. I'm not liking the idea of all that weight plus the weight of my lights hanging from the same pole. Does it have to be installed inside of the tent or can it go outside of the tent? Will it be just as effective if installed outside?

Thanks in advance for any advise

Hmmm
Maybe take a pice of plywood and mount it across the top.
Bolt the fan to the plywood with a bunch of rubber washers to minimize noise.
Drill a few hole on the corners of the plywood to attach it to the tubes of the tent?
If the tent has a hole on the top that's how I'd attempt it anyway with the filter inside the tent but fan on top outside.
Good luck

That sounds doable. I like the rubber washer idea. This fan is powerful and loud. Thanks brotherman!

I had an inline jammed halfway in and out of a tent before , I used the collar on the vent cover thingies to hold one end up and a rope ratchet on the other end. This was out of necessity because my hood was a terrible size for my tent and took up about 80% of it. Was also one of my first grows and I killed my carbon filter by hanging it really low like right under canopy level because of the lack of room. The humidity made it basically an impermeable block of mush. The filter can definitely be outside the tent if necessary too however it will be less effective, especially in a large open basement or something similar.

Basically never try to stuff an xxxl in a tent it's pointless anyways unless it's a large tent. I switched to a much smaller hood afterwards, like 24x17 or something. Fits much better and the footprint doesn't really matter because of the limited space.
