I have some VG and PG as well and was wondering about cooking up some kief in it then straining and putting in a cart.
Does that need to be decarbed? It's a couple years old sitting at room temp so should be naturally decarbed and I can always heat it enough to decarb in the VG if needed.
Thought I would use 5g of keif with 50ml VG as an experiment.
Any thoughts?
Are the flowers in a sealed jar or have they been exposed to the outside air?
I am not sure about the timing, but after a couple of years sitting at room temp, the THC has probably all turned to CBNA and possibly even decarbed on it's own to CBN.
CBN supposedly gives you a mellow high with a lot more sedative effects.
If you are looking for more of a THC high, find a military vet who smokes and offer to swap them your aged stuff for something fresher.
Chances are they will jump at the offer because usually anything CBN sells for a premium.
Ex-military (though are you ever ex-military?) folks love CBN because it helps with daytime PTSD and even if they won't talk about it, it helps them sleep because PTSD can cause a lot of night time anxiety accompanied by nightmares.
The medication typically prescribed for PTSD nightmares, prazosin (off-label use), is actually in capsules that are sort of camo colors (generic from Mylan), green/khaki, and dark-brown/light-brown...
I am not sure if this is a coincidence or it was done on purpose.
PTSD nightmares are difficult for military folks to talk about, because it is seen as a weakness.
But it's not, it's just how our minds cope a lot of stress in a short period of time.
Sadly it's a perfectly normal response.
CBN helps during the day and night, whereas high doses of prazosin only work at night.
I am not sure if there is anything medically approved for daytime PTSD, which is probably why CBN is so popular.
I am in the process of aging some cannabis so I can try this firsthand because I have only read about it, but it sounds like a very nice, enjoyable high.
Off-topic...
I wonder when we are going to start seeing people who mix blends of cannabinoid "cocktails" like how hipsters sort of ruined bartending, sorry "mixology."
We are already sort of seeing it with the terpene market, but I am talking about people blending THC, CBD, and cave aged CBN....lol...
To be fair, I have nothing wrong with people taking a hobby and making it something special, but things like the hipster bartending movement and the "molecular" gastronomy movement in cooking became more about turning 30 cents in ingredients into $30 profit and less about making a quality product.
Plus these "movements" always get a bunch of folks to spend money they don't have on overpriced equipment hoping to cash in on the next "gold rush."
It's all hype.
I will get off my soapbox now...
