Okay so i just started a grow outdoors in az.

I think my pots are 5 gallons im not exactly sure, they are about 1 foot tall and just about a foot wide.

I didnt fill them up all the way with soil and i am wondering if i will need a bigger pot for my plants since i started so early, and if i do how am i going to transplant them if they are only babies

Thanks

You are going to need 1 gallon of space for the roots for every foot of plant. Out door I would think you need bigger pots.

Okay so that means i am going to have to transplant :o

Anyone tell me how i can do this with such big pots / small plants

Thanks

If you want to save the pot that it is in you just have to water it a few hours before transplant. This will keep the soil and roots together. Carefully get the clump out of the pot and then put it into the bigger pot. Put some soil in the bottom of the bigger one first. Then cover it up. If you do not need the pot it is currently in then just cut it down the side and remove it from around the soil, (still need to water before hand). Hope this helps ya out.

Let them root out their current pot properly before you transplant them. This will help prevent damage to the roots that may happen if you transplant before the rootball has established itself properly.
