Helpp!!! Hps bulb blew! Ordered another>>mh or reg sun until it comes?

HELPP!!! HPS BULB BLEW! ORDERED ANOTHER>>MH OR REG SUN UNTIL IT COMES?

Hi peeps...Im in week 6 of flower and my HPS bulb blew! I ordered another, but have them under the MH. Would it be preferable for reg sunlight through window or MH?

The bulb will be here tomorrow, its only one 12 hr cycle, but wtf shoul;d I do?

wouldent worry about it to much at least u orderd a new one straight away. plants will be fine m8. how did it blow thou?

I don't know how it blew, but my MH works fine...I was nervous it was my ballast or socket...I tested a coupe times turning off and on to see if it was the ballast acting funny, MH bulb works fine.

For the future, I noticed sometimes if I kill the light, it doesnt turn right back on if I plug it in again? Is this normal? Then I wait a coupe minutes and it fires right up. Do ballasts or bulb need to cool? Just trying to figure out if my Ipower ballast is on the fritz.

And..HOW OFTEN do sockets go? If sockets hardly ever blow...I might just order a new ballast to be safe. Thoughts?

the ballast wont fire the bulb until it cools off.....(somethin like that) sorry to hear about the hps though, I know I'd have been in an uproar!

what kinda question is that?.... u use both mh and hps and dont know whether or not u can continue with the mh.. or the sun?... i hate to sound like a dick but... uh...i thought it was obvious that the mh is fine...what makes u think mh isnt just as or most so effective than a mh?...the study shows the exact same results with the exception that mh buds are denser...and the side by side actually showed more effectiveness with the mh cause it was only a 600 and the hps was 1000w... dnt get me wrong...this is newbie central...i just thought somebody with both resources... hps and mh would b a little more educated on this subject is all... i only use t5's and if my bloom bulbs went i could easily get the job done with a blue spectrum.

he wasent saying that he was asking his best option sun light or mh. if it was for a week id say sun like because u just wont get dense enougth buds with mh. but for 1 days mh or even no lights will be fine,

but saying that i agree with u smell do ya self a favour and do a bit of research on these powerfull lights coz like u said u was powering on and off a couple times that will not be gd for your ballast or bulb cost u money in the long run are u also use like a plug and grow or anything? sounds to me u havent and thats y ya bulb has blown. plug and grow are cotactor relays or sommot basically delays the power taking so much wattage at turn on.

what i mean is. is your ballast plugged straight in to the hole in the wall or a normal timmer?
