Hey RIU!

I just thought I'd share my newest grow with you all. 10 "regular" Blueberry seeds from Dutch passion. This is my second grow, from a somewhat sucsessful first grow. My first batch was 5 femed skunk seeds which I completed start to finish only to screw up the drying/curing process.

Anyway all ten seeds were germed with a bag and paper towel, I then set them under 2 floro tubes untill they were about 1 week old then thrown under a 400w MH lamp. Steady temp sitting at 75 degrees with a RH too low for my reader to register (under 25%). My soil mix consists of 60% pro-mix, 20% perlite, 15% worm castings, and 5% Bio Bizz pre-mix.
The nute line I'm using again is Bio Bizz which consists of the Bio-Grow, Alg-A-Mic, Bio-Bloom, and Top-Max.

So now I'm 20 days into the grow on 18/6, some of the plants came out severely deformed, but I'm going to keep them just for the hell of it, experimenting with LST, Top, and Fim for I am still new to those techniques.

No nutes yet, I will be starting in a few days going 1/4 strength for about a week with the veg nutes then swapping my lights to 430w HPS and a 12/12 lighting schedule.

Here are a few pics of my grow chamber, anyway nice to meet you guys! Wish me luck!

4" Squirrel cage fan 95cfm leading to the attic where a carbon scrubber is installed.

4" inlne Vortex fan 270 cfm also leading to the attic installed to a vent that leads directly outside. On a Temerature control timer.

Temerature control timer set to 75 degrees.

One of the deformed plants, this thing is growing so wierd, some leaves facing the soil, curved leaves, node leaves seem to be outgrowing some of the fan leaves. This paticular one is LSTing already, some of the other plants are not even worth showing, they are still on their first set of leaves.....wierd. As you might be able to see in the backgroud. Same soil, same light , same water, I also made sure the soil was well mixed before I did any planting.

And the others. Some on LST, I also topped on of the better looking ones for the first time. I'll se how it goes before I attempt another top or fim. And yes I realize I have to buy a new pH meter :P

Hey Hempfarmer,

Your grow room looks complete, I like how clean and well organized you keep it.
I'm about to start my second grow in January, and I am looking for advice on lighting schedules. Of course 24/0 works, but what has your experiences been on 18/6? How did you choose that schedule, over 20/4, or any other ratio?

Thank you in advance for any help you can endow.

Hey lounge, thanks for the reply,
The reason for the light schedule was because of my last grow. I tried to keep things a simple as possible for it was a very experimental time. All the grow guides I've read sugested either 24/0, 18/6, and 12/12. As I'm still new to growing I don't have enough grows under my belt to of had experimented or tweak certian things like the light schedule. So I'm just sticking to what I know works. Maybe my next grow I'll start doing that. My thing at the moment it LST, Top and Fim.

Good luck with your next grow, I'll keep an eye out for it.:peace:

Day 25

Plants are looking healthy, fed them twice with 1/4 strength nutes, next watering will be just that. A few more days and its to 12/12. Two of the plants have really shown no interest in life and will be trashed. I've been doing some reading and have come to the conclusion that it is a genetics thing and there is nothing I can do about it. Three of the other deformed plants are still not snapping out of it yet still growing so I'm keeping them. The other 5 plants are very pretty.

2 Successful Toppings and on the "regular" plants and 1 successful Fim on a "deformed" plant, well in 3 places to encourage upward growth.

Oh and a pepper plant I am currently reviving for my sister, nutes and everything :P

Please comments, suggestions encouraged.

Meh, down to 4 plants, there are 2 "normal" plants and 2 mutants.... 2 of them are confirmed female which are the normal ones thankfully, mutants are still to be determaned.

Humm.. interesting me 2 I got 2 mutants.. wonder why thinking it might be something with the BB strain.. isn't it a % of indica and a % of sativa? Then I am assuming we can see traits of different ones withtin the 10 BB's?? Any pics??

Pic 1+2 both males, the ones I topped. I was really hopeful with these but whatever
Pic 3+4 are the mutant females
Pic 5+6 are the "normal" females
I'll get some close ups a bit later when the pistils are more prevalent, my camera sucks.

Day 48, 19th day of 12/12

Just another Pic update, I had some problems with bugs, I got some neem oil and it seems to have taken care of it, nevertheless I will apply a few more times. I also repotted again, I dont think those other pots were big enough.
Also I think I'm starting to see some trichs develope not even 2 weeks after the plants started showing sex. Also Many little bud sites to speak of.
