Herbal Storage?

Question about storing my personal herbal product short term:

Is best to store herb in a humidifier such as you would use for tobacco cigars? Advice on this would be appreciated...

I found this post which verifies my long term storage system:

I have a food saver and that fucker is good for everything. The model I have lets you pick how much you actually vacuum out or compress whatever you do. Hell i can put fat ass muffins bread you name it. They even sell canisters and jars if you wanted. Shit watch some of the attitudes videos and you will see bags of thousands of seeds in a fridge in food-saver bags! Well worth every penny I paid for it! Buds will come out just as fresh the day you put them in there! Promise!

i personally use extra large mason jars (canning jars). You can pick up a 6pk at your local super market for pretty cheap.

the food saver is better for long term storage as you have found already.
I have both !

clean metal coffee cans ,rice and tinfoil taped shut then into the freezer,good for years.

I should rephrase my question. Is a cigar humidifier the best thing to use to store herb for short term? Is it good for the herb to be bagged or unbagged in a humidifier?
