Here we go!! Northern Lights, Hawaiian Gold, and Super Silver Haze!

Hello to everyone! And welcome to Buddy Jesus's new grow journal!! Just got done building my new veg box with the help of some crafty friends. I was given 3 plants Hawaiian Gold, Northern Lights, and Super Silver Haze. The only downfall is that they have a really bad spider mite problem. I treated them today with some stuff from General Hydroponics, its some kinda vegetable based pesticide. Hopefully I can keep them gone forever with this stuff. But would love to hear what other people have tried and have had success with. This is only my 3rd time growing. The first time I did awesome (at least what I thought :D) the 2nd time I didn't get to keep an eye on the ladies often enough and they some how died in the last 2 weeks of flower. Wont make that mistake again!! I took some pictures after I treated the ladies, prolly should have taken some before pics, but just didn't think of it till it was to late. But i have included all the pics of the ladies and a couple of the box.. I'll take more of the box once it's 100 percent done.

Little bit about the box.. Its 2x2x4 box that I built out of 2x4's and osb board. Just built a frame and slapped the osb board on the frame. Cut a hole out were I'll build a door to, just forgot to buy hinges when I went to the store.. (To much smoking before hand with no shopping list haha) I have a T5 florescent for the veg light, and a 600 hps for flowering. I still need to cut an intake and outtake holes where I'll have inline duct fans at. I also need to either paint or get some kind of reflective shit for the inside of the box. I really would like to have a good sealing door that i can look. Not because I live with anyone shady or anything like that, but just for my piece of mind lol. Don't want any kind of prying eyes looking into the box lol. Eventually the plan will be to build a DWC system hopefully soon. I plan on trying to take some cuttings off of these plants, but have never had any of my cuttings take root.. Thats a hole nother story there. Not sure what I'm doing wrong with cloning but I'm sure I'll figure it out with the help of my fellow RIUers..

Any and all help would and will be greatly appreciated!! Please feel free to leave any kinda comments good or bad! I always like hearing what other people have to say about anything that I'm doing.. Good or bad.. I've done a lot of reading about growing, but nothing beats experience with this wonderful plant! So don't be shy!!

Cheers and hope you enjoy this as much as I'm going to!!!

hey dude, setup looking great but the plants aren't... you just got them right? If you will put them in the box under 600W HPS then I bet they will do a whole lot better. I'm subbed, and will see where this is going. Good luck man!

Hey man. You have a nice enough box built there by the looks of things. I would forget about the T5 for now in there though and build a separate veg box to use that with. Your plants would do just fine with that 600 in there now.
Definitely get something reflective. Black and white, 'Panda Plastic' is good and cheap sold at say a store for small farm supplies. If you're lucky your local hydroponic store might have some too. Mylar is another option. Or just paint it reflective white. You should also get your intake and outtake setup asap too. Nothing about stale air is good, even in the temp is ok.
Spider mites. Spider mites are not good man. It would have probably not even been a good idea to take those plants at all. The only one that looks almost healthy still is your NL. The other two might be fucked. Pesticides work alright for spider mites but 100% is something of good fortune. Ladybugs are the best way apparently, but also hard to find and expensive. Unless you live in a warm place right now you could go looking for some?
Your plants are having a hard time right now probably just because of the mites. You just got them, but a hydrometer and some way to test your ph is a really good place to start. Know your moisture level and your ph. Then you have those two things eliminated.
Having said all that. I would have to say the best recommendation would be to get some new clones from somewhere else or start some new seeds. Meanwhile if your other ones survive, good for you man! That's about all I have right now, but best of luck to you.

Happy Growing!

Thanks for stopping by!! Yea i'm gonna try and go out tomorrow and get some panda film. As for the intake outtake those will be in there tonight, along with the door and the lock! About the plants, I just didn't want to see them go to waste lol.. hopefully they'll pull through! And i have a ph meter and a hydrometer.. my ph is 6.4 right now. I have one fem blue cheese seed that i'm going to start germing once i build my flower box. so maybe in the next couple few weeks. We'll see what happens.. lol.

Nice ...I'll be keeping up with this to see how they turn out. Besides, you have the blessings of the Ganja Gods...
Glad to have you here Sir Gonzo! Hopefully the Ganja Gods well keep my plants healthy!!

Here's a quick update! Still no signs of any returning mites.. but we'll just have to wait and see. Other than that they actually seem a lot better then yesterday.. The Hawaiian Gold is standing up on her own, and the northern lights actually looks the best now! not as much coloration in the leaves. I think i'll try and feed them the next time I water. Any yes no maybes on this? Or should I just keep watering with PH'd water? Also should I remove any of the discolored leaves or should i just let them fall off on its own?

Thanks

Another update!!

Another day has gone by and I still see no mites!! =) Can only hope and cross my fingers.. Looks like a lot of the leafs on all the plants are starting to green up a lot more! And the Northern Lights still is by far the best looking plant! It almost looks like it didn't have anything wrong with her... Anyway heres a couple of new pics taken today..

Oh and quick question.. Would it be good to transplant them into newer and bigger pots?

no thoughts from anyone? I could really use some advice on whether or not I should cut clones or let them veg for a little bit longer before I do..

Hey buddy, nice grow you got goin here.It looks to me like your branches stretched a bit, try to keep your light as close to you plants as possible without burning them. What lights are you using I must have missed that. To strengthen your branches put a fan on them at all times if you havent yet. I also suggest some type of training whether it be lst, scrog, supercrop or whatever. As far as clones go I would cut them now looks like their good n ready. I would also let them veg for another couple of weeks if you can I think it will be worth it. Mites are a motherfucker, just when you start to think their dead and forget about them they are back in full force. I fucked more than 1 crop up before I started using hot shot no pest strips. They work wonders, killed all the spider mites in my room within a couple of days. Now I only pull it out between grows for a couple of days and I havent had a mite in several harvests. I noticed you mentioned your interest in dwc systems, I suggest you look on grasscity.com's DIY forums at rumpleforeskins build your own bubblebucket thread, its very educational. Good luck I'll be watching.

hey buddy, how's it going? Plants look a whole lot better than when you first started this out. I believe that if you want, you can take clones. Do you have Clonex and rockwool cubes? Also build a dome to keep in the moisture. You can even just cut 2 liter bottles in half and put them over the clones. Keep humidity as high as possible and don't feed. Keep them under 24/0 6500k CFL or T5 tube. Good luck man! If you wanna see some bud porn I just uploaded some fresh pics ;) +rep 2u

Let me know what you all think? I still haven't taken any clones, i'm not sure how i'm going to be able to raise the humidity in the box? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
