If you are talking about growing in soil then you want your ph in the mid 6 range.

It is possible, varies from plant to plant. Can anyone tell me how to get my picture up? its in my profile, just doesnt show in blogs...

ok cool....my ph is at 6 right now maybe a smidge lower....is the brown spots still from the nute burn or is it lockout???is lockout fixed by giving them food....i wasnt feeding them but i did get some food and fed them last night....shultz 10-15-10...lol..i wonder why my boy is tellin me that stuff...he says thats what he keeps his at until flowering....i just dont wanna mess em up...more ppl say 6 - 6.5 than 4.5so am i on the right track???should my babys get better....i have pics before my repotting and after and some as of today if anyone would wanna see them....my setup is ghetto but i think its gonna be fine if i feed them and dont over water....

Lock out is caused by wrong PH. The nutrients the plant needs get "locked out" because the ph is not in a range where the plants can assimilate them. 6.0 will not cause lockout, but any lower sure can. So adding fertilizer wont help if the PH is too low. the fert will just biuld up in the soil. And if/when you get the ph right, the built up ferts will burn the shit outta your plants. So you've got to know your ph EXACTLY so you know if your plants is eating or starving? Capeesh?

Its always nice to get pics up so we can see the problem. I would keep your ph rite around 6.0 and I wouldnt go any higher than 6.4 but thats just me, like I said I keep mine at 6.2 always.

if u were usin hydro ud use 5.5 but since ur in soil u want 6.5..... yes lemon juice would do it for cheap... but honestly ph down isnt that expensive..... buy a litre for like $4

If you don't have the cash for PH Down, try just a few drops of Apple Cider Vinegar. It's all natural & $.89 at the store. But I don't know if your problem is nute lock out, which sometimes looks like a Magnesium deficiency, and i think it can be cured by getting your soil back to 6.0-6.5 instead of 7+ which it's probably at now. So what you could do is do a flush with some tap water (with a couple drops of Apple Cider Vinegar) that has been left out so the chlorine evaporates, then add some peat moss as a top dressing and water it down like usual. Wait for improvements and then start slowly adding nutes @ 1/4 strength.

If I'm wrong on this, someone with some exp. please correct it.

Growing with coco and using heavy nutes I sometimes measure my runoff at around 5 and my plant loves it. Alot depends on the strain though. Couple of my plants cant take lower than 6

not true that will lock out the roots big time. soil 6.0 to 6.5.

I second the apple cidar vinegar and recommend the organic. Also apple cidar vinegar will CURE hearthburn, acid reflux, what ever you want to call it. Take a shot of ACV once a day you will never have heartburn again. Also works on the spot for occasional acid indigestion. Apple cidar vinegar has MANY MANY wonderful uses. Seek and ye shall find.

yeh...heres the thing...i had some shitty soil mixed with miracle grow and he added the miracle grow liquid and burned them i think.....then i repotted and flushed and put them in good soil....my ph is 6 now so when i fed them last night they should eat that and fix their color prob correct??heres some pix....i will put them in order of time in days...(first pic before transplant, second: closeup on leaf, third: after transplant, fourth: today)

okay...so me flushing and repotting in good soil DID help...i gave them shultz 10-15-10 last night....should i keep doing this every watering???i wont need to give them any miracle grow tho, now that ive got the food???and is there anything else that i need to do during this process cept let them sit in front of their fan n under their lights and grow???Thank you for your help mygirls....

If you're gonna use that Schultz as directed (every watering) I strongly suggest half dosing, ie:3-4 drops per quart.
I half-dose it regardless of frequency and suspect some dying, drying, burned up leaves have resulted from overuse of this decent product.
The nitrogen in it (urea) needs soil microbes to activate.

10-15-10 well be fine. you won't need the MG. make sure youcheck you ph every time after you mix up your nutes. i myself feed every watering whitch is every 4 days but im in 19 gallon pots, so that make a big deffrence. i would say anything 10 gallon or smaller in pot size youwill want a feeding schedual of say feed - feed- waterfeed-feed-water. when youwater ph b4 watering and collect the runout and check your ph. it shoul remain the same 6.0 to 6.5.if at anytime your ph rises then just flush tell it leavles out, if your ph is low then feed more days in a row be4 watering. this is how i mamtain my ph in my runout.:weed:
