Hermies are bad........or are they?

Ive only experienced one time with a hermi plant and it did have seeds, but imo a plant having a few banana leaves is not a HERMI. Thus your not causing it to hermi.. I have seen my own plants with bananas (ak-47) and not a single seed on them.. Like I said I don't really give a fuck either way. If your gonna make seeds DO IT THE RIGHT WAY.. And I don't care what anyone says, hermi seeds are most likely gonna produce hermi plants..
Take the pollen from a hermi plant. Use it to pollenate a female plant from regular beans. Bam, got yourself some femmed beans.....

I wouldn't say for 100% sure but most likely they are gonna be... People are always looking for the quick and easy way out, and I'm not referiing to only you but if you can't pop a few beans and wait to see what their gonna be then your in the wrong business. Patients is a virtue
Well I'm not looking for the easy way out. I think it's more of just wanting to be educated, I mean that's what this forum is intended for right? Anyways, appreciate all the responses. Would love to hear from someone who has planted a large number of hermie seeds and what their results were if you're out there.

Search the user name Riddleme within this forum. I think the title of one of his threads is actually 'Hermis are your friends'. Its all been laid out and discussed by some vet growers that use to hang around this site.......

I'm pretty sure all or most of the plants I'm growing now are from hermie seeds, and I don't see any hermies yet...never seen a male in person either

Its seems like it has been a year or better...maybe check his 'Balls to the Wall' thread. It may have been one of his ditties within. You may want to check out his 'Calling all Noobs' thread. Also filled with great growing info......

Perfect, will start reading through them. Did find a journal by growone where he planted a hermie seed and it turned out to be female so I guess there's hope.

Just to clarify, if I only have one plant in my tent, the hermie, is there any point in trying to continually cut the bananas off or should I just let it pollinate?

If your hermi showed up from a fem bean and the rest of the gals in the room are from the same batch of fem seeds, or from fem beans. The seeds produces will be most likely be predominatly hermi. There will be some that would grow out female all the way. Most dont have the luxury of running the plant numbers needed to find them. But if the other female plants are from regular beans then by all means. If you dont mind cleaning some beans from your stash then go for it. You will have a nice bunch of femmed beans to search through. May just find a winner. One thing to keep in mind if you do keep the hermi in the flower room. Time consideration. You need at least 4-5 weeks from pollenation to a good crop of viable beans....

Ya that guy was a tard. I know what he means in that the bananas haven't pollinated his crop, as I see this in my own crop exactly as he described (latebananas) but it is still herm trait. That is a scientific fact. Both male and male genitals means hermaphrodite.

i asked this same question, found a lot of different answers
i asked because i had a hermie that really puked pollen over itself and ended up heavily seeded
wasn't bad weed, but the seeds cut your yields
i tried 1 seed, a fine un-hermied female was the result, no trace of maleness
worked well enough that i'm trying a 2nd seed, grow is documented in my signature

Ok for the record a hermie is a good thing.this is a good thread for newbies that wanna learn how feminized seeds are created.yes a hermie will produce feminized seeds and if that pollen is taken and pollinates female plants they will be female.thats all this arguing in a nutshell.you cant argue with genetics.all this arguing with max just prooves he needs to read more or experience more to post things that he THINKS he knows.as you can see all us vets have been through the feminizing process and know what were talking about.so timmy you have a hermie then use it to your advantage brother but the best route to go would be to clone your biggest and best growing female so you dont have to worry about any males or slow growing plants. Its all in personal preference so if you want to make feminized seeds then be my guest and I hope you the best luck in your grow. One love, johnman

I for one learned a lot from this thread. I always was told hermie plant equaled hermie seeds but now I must go follow growones' thread because I want to know what happens.
Can't wait to have my grow up and running but I think I have about another year before that can start hopefully I'll know enough by then to not kill all my plants. (again)
