Hermies'n heat

My plants have 18 hours of light and 6 dark. The 6 hours of lights off in my box have high temps at 103*F, along with 3 hours before and after lights out for a total of 12 hours a day. The other 12 hours in the box it stays 78*F-82*F. Will high temps for half the day turn plants hermie?

They have no signs of stress, and have never wilted from heat so I really don't think it's a huge issue, but I worry nonetheless.

I might be confused, but the way I read your post is that you temps drop when your lights go on? So when your lights go out, the temp goes up to 103F, and then when the lights come on, the temps drop down to about 80F. Weird. But 103 is pretty dang hot for a MJ plant. Also, if you would feed your plant every other watering. you should probably only feed every 3 waterings. The water in you soil is evaporating a lot faster, leaving behind Nutrients and salts that are not yet used. I have seen it many times. Someone grows during the winter, and then during the summer they do not adjust the frequency of feedings. But if your plant can handle it. go for it.

I would try to get that temp down to at least 95F at the bare minimum.

Yeah, you read that correctly. It's because my grow is in an attic and I have the lights off from noon till 6pm. I have an intake drawing outside air and by 6pm the air outside is cool, and by 8pm its almost ideal. But during the lights out time the sun beats on the roof heating it up quite a bit up there.

I'd grow somewhere else if I could, but I can't.

Yeah Plants tend to stop growth above 90, I read somewhere at 92 they close up and protect themselves and don't grow.

The majority of the high temps are during lights out so it wouldn't be growing anyways. I'm guessing this is not a common issue so I'm just going to ride it out and see. Looks like outside temps start to average 65-70*F after the second week of Sept. so it's only for a little bit longer anyways. Come Oct. I might need to put my portable heater up there lol.

Anyone have anymore advice? Still need to know if heat can cause hermies. I'm not so worried about slow growth because temps are going to drop in a few weeks.

I doubt that hot temps cause hermies. Im sure by stopping hot outdoor intake(still exhaust) between 12-6 pm, just osc fan for this period will drop temps, and try to run a dehumidifier in the dark cycle.
