Hesitant To Defoliate.

So I’ve got a pretty strong fan inside my tent because I want to keep the hot air from accumulating, and some of the fan leaves have gotten whipped around enough to get damaged.

I’m guessing I still have another month of flowering, though, and worry there isn’t enough foliage to maximize my yield/quality. Will the sugar leaves and flowers make up for the damaged fan leaves, at least partially? Should I use extra nutes? I’ve seen folks almost totally defoliate and still get a decent crop — I don’t want to do anything that drastic, just looking for ways to compensate for lost fan leaves, since the plant doesn’t seem to be producing new ones. Five weeks into flower, BtW
I cant honestly say if you should use extra nutrients or not, we are talking about the health of your hard work. I dont want that responsibility and guilt if it goes sideways. I will say this. Any plant is only going to eat what it needs, and no more. We cant force feed them. I have found a way around this, sort of, by increasing my root mass, and health. The way that I personally think to increase your plants size health and yields, is increase root mass. If temperature is an issue. I know a super easy DIY air conditioner of sorts. Cost you about 50 bucks or less. You could get away with adding growers recharge supplement. Or a humic and fulvic acid to your routine. It works miracles. i can provide you with lab tests as well. Im sold on it. If you're curious research humic acid and cannabis and or ask and i can send info too

This is exactly what you dont want to do.There is no reason to defoliate here. The purpose of defoliation is to allow the light to penetrate the canopy and get to the new canopy you created by defoliating. That requires a thick layer of leaves so that there is still a canopy after defoliation. The budding sites above the new canopy now get direct light. There is no canopy here after defoliation.

Plants will eat more than they need. Its called nute burn.It can happen even if you dont give them too much nutes. If the humidity is too low, they will draw in more water and nutes than they need and burn.

Hi all, I'm thinking I should clean up some of these leaves. I'm getting a lot of huge fan leaves that are covering up the smaller branches. I've been tucking them down as best I can, but with smaller branches constantly shooting up, it's getting hard to even do that. Think it's safe to remove some of the foliage? Gonna be in veg for another week to 2 weeks. Some leaves are easily a foot wide, possibly bigger. Also, I have no clue what strain this is. I got the plant from a friend of a friend who said the seeds were fem dutch genetics, but no strain name.

You dont need or want to defoliate here. You want to prune them.Take off any leaf covering up a new growing lead.Spread them out so that they fill up the net. Then, after they are about 3-5 weeks into flower, you can defoliate. What you are doing is essentially moving the canopy down and allowing the light to access more budding sites. If you move it down too far or dont have enough leaf mass, you are defeating the purpose.
