Being that you're using a 250W light, I'd suggest you keep plant height under 2-2.5ft. Look into supercropping and LST. You want to train it to keep a low profile with several main tops. Do you know which strain you'll be growing?

yeah.. if you want the very basics to learn with you have the right idea...

i would cut your veg period back to about 4 weeks tho...

keep your light as close as you can without burning or bleaching your plant.. and make sure you have 18 or more hours of light during the veg period..

flowering should take about 9 weeks.. so thats about how long after you switch to 12/12 you should be harvesting...

get good soil that doesnt have time released nutes...

get some decent nutes... at minimum get a flower nute.. most of the time if the soil is of good quality sprouts can make it through a 4 week or so veg period without much nuteing..

but yea.. basically you are spot on for a very basic beginning grow.. if you have any questions, or want any more details feel free to ask.. also here is a link to a guide i am sort of building here and there that has a lot of info.. https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/212352-all-new-growers-questions-tons.html

Checking the weight of your pots is a pretty good way of knowing when to water.

Unless your soil has excessive drainage, top soil being dry doesn't indicate you should water. You could very likely over-water and even get root rot from watering too frequently. Basically, sticking to schedule is the best way. Know how much you water, and don't mess with it too much. Less is more. Root rot kills. Your plants might wilt a little from under watering(water them asap!), but very likely not die from it.

general hydroponics.. fox farms... advanced nutes... technaflora.. these are all great nutes to use... whether its a 2 or 3 part program you want they have it.. plus any supplement you could ask for...

you can super crop your plants to get many tops.. super cropping is easy and effective... you could also consider FIM'in your plant tops.. this is similar to topping, but without the stress since you are only removing a small amount of new growth instead of the entire top... you may also choose to do some LST'ing to it... all three are great methods to increase tops while keeping stress to a minimum..

can sum 1 tell me what nodes r LOL

Selecting the point for topping to get 4 main colas -

To get 4 main colas, let your seedling or cutting (clone) grow to about 5-6 nodes and pinch out (cut) the stem just above the 2nd true node.

i dont get it why 5 or 6 if ur just gna chop it off ?

and what r the nodes please?

very true.. if the top inch is dry then check the bottom of the pot through a drain hole.. if the bottom is dry also its probably a good indication to water..

to take all the guess work out of watering though get yourself a moisture meter...

you can also lift you pot when you know its dry to get an idea of the weight.. and then lift it again after you have watered it... this way you can tell the weight difference between the two.. then you just lift your pots daily or every other day to check their weight.. when they are back to about the same weight as they were prior to watering, or if you start seeing some drooping of the leaves, you know its time to water..

nodes = the spot where the branches grow out from the main stem.. seconday nodes are where the shoots on the new branches start coming out...

it will stress it.. which could lead to a hermie.. if the genetics are not strong..

your best bet would be to top and then to fim...
