Hey question regarding potency.

All right guys I have a Q, picture this you have one plant that you let gro normally ok. Now if you were to LST that same plant you would get more yeild of course, right. Now my Q is does the poentecy change with a higher yeaid off a plant that was only going to give so much?

potency is geno/pheno limited, as is yield. LST does indeed help to actualize that limit as far as yield is corcerned.

well the upper buds on a plant contain more trichomes, trichomes contain cannabinoids, cannabinoids are what determine potency.

if you have a plant with ten tops they will all be of even size and density and will more or less have equal amounts of cannabinoids.

my sense of reasoning says lst does increase potency overall.

i have actually done this, grew at NL pheno several times
one time was plain untrained grow, one other was an LST
i believe i got a much more uniform product with the LST, which makes sense
every bud was about the same distance from the lights, that's not the case for a 'straight' grow

I understand that you get more buds off a single plant with lst then if you let her go onatural. What I'm wondering is if the ponetcy is changed in any way.

actually, i got less from the LST, strains have their quirks, at least that's how it worked for me
potency was pretty close, maybe the same

the buds nearer the lights are more potent in my opinion. if you have more buds closer to the light then you are maximising potency. no growing style be it sog/scrog/lst/vertical or straight up can increase the potency of your genetics. potency is determined by genetics/memetics. you will get more quantity of quality buds doing an lst grow.

The most potent part is the kolas, so more kolas = more potent areas of growth. If you have 1 plant yeild 1 z 1/2 kolas and 1/2 popcorn, and had another plant yeild 1 z of mostly kolas you would technichally have more potency in that.

However as stated before, the actual potency is based off genetics first, so if its 20% thc or whatever thats just what it is, growing styles wont change that. I only order strains with a high thc content.
