After the plant is mature enough,,,u can reduce the amount of light your giving it and it will force the plant to start flowering ,,,, the process is faster,,,but i have know idea about the quality of da bud,,,, ----peace------ BOOMSHIVA___________!!!!!______v:peace:

the plants should get atleast 6 to 8 inches before inducing flowering with 12/12 light cycle.

I've heard that its when the fan leaves stop coming out in pairs. I want to keep it kind of small,I just don't want to force it too early.

if you don't want to force it to early then you should wait until you see signs of maturity like preflowers or alternating branches, clones can be flowered whenever you like because they are taken from a mature plant and carry the same age as the plant they are cut from, but if you are growing from seed wait for the signs of maturity, this usally takes 4-8 weeks vegitative growth...:joint:

Yeah its just a bagseed that sprouted up out of a flower pot.I'm trying my best not to run her into the ground. It sounds like I have a lot of lessons to learn, but i'm up for the challenge.

thanx for the tips 000420

if gonna grow outside what would be the point of forcing them to flower early seeing the point of outdoor grows are to grow them the whole season to get maximum results if you want a short plant just start your plant in end of june couple days into july and by the time its done will only be about 2 1/2 3 ft tall
or just stick to indoor. hoped tht helped.

or just stick to indoor, jeez how rude....i think its smart for indoor growers to take advantage of the sun in summer, it's free light for god sake, and i know many growers who do this, just because you want to take advantage of free light from the sun doesn't mean you have to grow like an outdoor grower, just veg your plants outdoors and and when they are the size you desire cover them up daily so they only receive 12/12 or build a little dark room inside to throw them in every night, it's just like growing indoors but the lights are free!!...i use to live down south in the hi desert and you can do this all year long....:joint:

After the plant begins flowering how long till you can harvest your outdoor?
it starts flowering around mid august outdoors when the light gets shorter then it will be ready to harvest mid september or october depending on the strain and flowering period

from what I have seen though, and this is from what i have seen because i have no outdoor experience nor have i ever claimed to but the outdoor plants i have seen look kinda stretched for veg, i admit though that you can obviously get a much bigger plant with fatter colas but I personally wouldnt use the "free light" because of stretching in veg, i grow artifically so i need the plants to be as small as possible before flowering.

topping is a way to promote bushier growth rather then a tall spindly plant
from my experince in outdoors topping is a really good technique to get fat colas rather then a long spindly cola but then again it also depends on your strain some strains grow farther spaced nodes than others and topping helps this. say you planted today giving your plant altleast 8 hours of light
it and you toped it when it was big enough you would end up with a fat little bush rather then a spindly taller one.:joint:
