Hey all I am new to just wanted to share my experience. I Have made some excellent extract, note this is my trial run. This is a complex system that uses a vacuum pump to boil off the alcohol and water at lower temperature. I have a cold trap setup to reclaim the ISO. I have 80% return of what I put in so its working great I think the ISO is actually coming out stronger than 91%. its nice and clear and smells much stronger than out what came out of the bottle. I made a batch of brownies, they turned out AMAZING! I can't even taste the hash and they knock you on your ass. I literally couldn't talk and had to drag myself into bed never have I been so stoned.

I will be using 99% ISO for smoking grade.

1st part.
I used 91% ISO, soaked finely ground herb / shake for 3 days.
I purchased a high precision temperature controller, the probe is positioned at the bottom of the deep fryer (personal size). I use the deep fryer to heat the water bath which because it has excellent response time and accuracy. I also bypassed the temperature regulator on the deep fryer as Temperature controller does its job much better.
I was using mason jars but the surface area is far too small although I was able to boil off an entire jar of ISO in 1 hour at 150F

2nd part
cold trap extracts the alcohol I only get a faint scent of alcohol vapor at the vacuum pump.
i am constantly improving the system. I want to get as close to 30HG as possible as it will make things, faster, more efficient and lower the boiling point considerably.

This is the Alpha version it's very crude at the moment but works very well.

System sounds cool, but why the hell you soaking finely ground material for three days. No wonder lots of plant matter.

Can't tell exactly what you're doing, but if you used frozen mildly broken up material with a quick wash method, you may have something.

it soaked for 3 days because I didn't have time to get to it. I just dissolved an oz of some water extracted hash in %99 alcohol. how long should it soak? The cold water hash was a few different grades mixed together so it didn't even stick to its self it was just powder.
