Tbh i tried it once and my main problem with that system is i couldnt keep my resevoirs temp low enough because 8 separate buckets are hard to keep cool and i kept getting root rot is actually the reason i moved to this system because with this there was only 1 resevoir to cool and also the roots sitting in the air also helps to combat root rot

Good points David...DWC guys always seem to be fighting root rot...probably due to res heat. You seem like a creative guy...you'll figure it out.

I think your system might work.
But don't bother making it HPA.
I think for al your roots to get really wet, you need your pump to run for a minute or so.
Then turn it off and wait for example 5 minutes before turning it on again.
Perhaps even 2 or 3 misters around your roots. Misters cost nothing.
I said it might work, but perhaps not.
It is a bit similair to the system with the white fence posts that some people use.
But you use buckets.
