so my 1 1/2 week old plants are getting pretty big and i want to cycle in my 400 watt hps how high up from my plants should i keep my light

i would keep it about 12 inches away from the tops give or take thats what i do for my grow

set your light about 15" above the plant. put your arm (soft side up) under the light and adjust the light. your too close if the light burns your arm.

Especially if the soft part of your arm bursts into flame. I'd back it off a little.

i have a 1000wtt hps and its 10"away from the top of my girls. it stays at 84 degress at the top of the plants. no heat stress or burns. put your hand under the light for about a min. if your hand gets hot to where you have to pull it back then rais tell its not to hot. good luck

Yeah i have 1000 watters and shit only be 15 inchs away.... closer the better as long as it dont burn
